Yeah, I have a friend who's constantly complaining about her being super weak now, but I actually see her as a lot stronger.

I think AP quints are pretty good since they add 6 magic damage to your autoattack and 1.5/second vs the 6.75/attack you get from 3x AD quints. For marks though, I'd would actually go attackspeed or AD. Both improve your early game far more than getting AP marks would.

marks should almost always be some kind of penetration since those are the most efficient cost and slot wise. attack speed and flat AD marks are sometimes good though.

Don't understand the Garen change at all, he saw so little play and I can't see any of these things being a buff untill you get a lot of items. You can't go straight damage first anymore and still get 25arm/mr for example. Pretty sure his E damage has been nerfed aswell.

E is buffed, the break point is 121.85 bonus AD but Garen now scales much better with crit.
He also got 3 extra seconds of damage reduction and 30% crowd control reduction. I take that trade off for a slightly squishy early game.
I heard report that maxing Q first in lane is actually really strong now.
I am somewhat sure the new level 1 Q covers extra distance than the old level 1 Q, I believe xyp also confirmed this but I can't find the post at the moment.

Really looking forward to the katarina changes though, at first everyone said it was an overall buff, but then Scarra and co came out and said its a nerf (i think), so yeah x_x
Also, I've been seeing more and more people play varus as of late, perhaps the buff on his ult will make him a little more viable for competitive play :o

Pdd(now on iG) did play an awesome Garen last year in IEM Guangzhou. Beside from that noone really plays Garen in high level tournament. I would love too see more Garen in competitive play since hes fun to watch cos we've seen so little of him.
I would build a movement speed + crit Garen with 3xPD just for the lol. Omg that Q crit is gonna be so fun.

No, the animation is shortened to 2.5 second but the number of damage ticks are still the same. The old Garen used to have this 0.5 second lag at the end of judgment where he continues to spin but doesn't actually do any damage.
This specific change is actually a buff.
