Really it's not that hard to get her functional, she clears fine with a leash. The problem I was trying to solve was getting her into a position to gank immediately after her clear. The other issue I keep running into is figuring out how to build her.
I can't really speak for trying to play Kat anywhere else, but I'm increasingly certain that jungle Kat will be built/played like a bruiser. After your initial AoE you're aiming to out-survive the enemy carry and stick to them like glue.

sustain can be made up for anyone by runes/masteries/items

Certainly anyone can jungle with CA+5p and the right setup. When I go on the PBE to try new/remade champs out in the jungle that's not what I'm testing or aiming for because it's trivial and uninteresting.

God I need more IP. New champ, still need 4 more flat cdr glyphs AND I need flat hp and hp/5 glyphs. I have 206 IP. Sigh.
Btw, looking for a new top champ to play. Criteria being either a complete asshole to lane against (already play Yorick tho) and/or good snowballing. I'm trying to remember what TSM used in their snowball comps earlier this year, I think it was mainly Udyr? (Lets not talk about TRMs performance with Irelia and Kennen :D)
Basically a nice durable lane bully with good clear, I LOVE pushing/aoe clearing waves. Any suggestions?

Which is what makes me sad, Kat was ment to burst finish off champs, now her role has basically changed.

Kayle top fits that criteria pretty well. She can be a complete dick, and has pretty good wave clear as well.
Nunu is a dick top laner as well, and no incoming nerfs yet so... might worth looking into, his wave clear is pretty crap though.

Soto on rengar for super snowball
Also nunu has great wave clear in his R. Use it wisely.

So when are you going to accept me into SG, Gatorserious?

Guys, I've been playing some Jax and while he's amazing fighting against people I can never finish them off. They're usually able to run back to their turret and get away at low hp. I've been using ignite but it hasn't helped much, do you think exhaust will be better and do you have any tips?
|
If you have trouble finishing people off, exhaust won't help more than ignite in most cases. If you're having trouble chasing people down you likely just need to pick fights a little better/change up your itemization. Early phage and/or cutlass is amazing for helping you chase people down. Don't blow your Gunblade/cutlass active straight away in 1v1 fights in lane. Let your Phage/Triforce proc to keep them in a fight as long as possible and use your actives to chase them down.
Sometimes, just sending them back in lane or chasing a high priority target out of a teamfight is more than enough to secure a lead for yourself or your team. Engagements do not always need to end in kills for them to be worth it.
|
If you aren't finishing them off that isn't an issue, if you aren't obliterating your lane after doing that a few times the problem is a lack of wave control. Sending them back is enough to win your lane.

What, new patch already? That was fast. At least it seems fast, compared to the usual pace.

Anyone else think that people are going overboard with crying NERF on the Katarina change? I wouldn't be surprised if she's really strong now.

its the same thing as the olaf changes - everyone was like "holy shit he's gonna be so weak now" and now he's actually played. people just need to try her out a bunch before jumping on the train

My thoughts:
Garen: Brutalizer is still going to be a stupidly strong item on him but I think that the itemization of GA, Mercs, IE, Maw, Warmogs, Randuins would be pretty stupidly strong on him. He'll wind up tankier than the old garen, doing more damage and just spinning to win as usual.
Teemo: I'm expecting nashor's tooth. 0.6 scaling every third hit isn't good enough to make it good on diana, maybe 0.4 scaling EVERY hit would be good on teemo! zerks, wits, nashors, dcap, mallet, GA, dcap?
