A lot of the splash are they're re-doing aren't really necessary, at least not until they revamp artstyle/graphics engine, and character models as well

The funny thing is a lot of "pros" like to say how it's such a shitty item and somehow it's "not cost efficient." lol It's like they don't understand basic math or simply never did it, and just say it because other "pros" say it.

before: atma's was super cost efficient, AND slot worthy. after nerf: atma's now just only cost efficient, and not really slot worthy.

40 AD for 3k health + a chainvest (there are more efficient and better sources of armor) + ... crit? Not many warmog/mallet-buyers care much about crit, so we're looking at something that's basically competing with BFsword + Chainvest. Most bruisers don't really care about an item that's mostly offensive focused that late in the game, they probably already have an offensive core and want to tank out appropriately.

You can get it pretty early for it to be effective, especially because you're going to be beefier on those champs anyway. 2k HP is 30 AD, which BARELY edges it out over a pickaxe, then you have to consider that high-end armor items are much more cost-efficient than a chainmail, and most people who would look at atmas don't benefit incredibly from the crit, which devalues that by a nebulous amount.

It's still cost efficient, but not nearly as much as before, especially considering how much of that cost is tied up into crit chance, which is not particularly valued on most bruisers. People don't actually pay much attention to actual cost efficiency (as opposed to perceived cost efficiency). Just look at how often people upgrade Hexdrinker to Maw fairly quickly. You're paying 1900 for just +30 AD, +6 MR, +150 on the shield, and the unique +AD passive. Unless you're at low health, it's not even cost effective. Edit: Another problem with Atma's is that HP itemization is rather poor when compared to armor itemization. Randuin's Omen and Frozen Heart and Thornmail are ridiculously good against ranged carries, while nothing comes close for HP items. Before the Atma's nerf, it gave enough stats to make rushing Phage->Atma's viable; I recall Wickd used to do this on Irelia.

To consider such an item "cost efficient", it has to be about as efficient as items like Wit's End. So you have to get quite a bit more AD than just the combine cost times BFS' AD per gold ratio to make it a good buy.

Most items are not horribly inefficient, the problem arises when the stats they give you don't work for you as much as other choices. Re: Nashor's Tooth.

I don't see how she can be OP unless her ratios are totally absurd. She can probably lane OK, but I bet she is a poor roamer due to one CC that is an AOE that only slows (W) and her R requires a set up.

Her roaming may be underwhelming as she needs time for setup with the orbs, but her zone control looks insane, and the ability to throw minions is not only a great harassment tool, but also allows you to manipulate lane flow without necessarily pushing. If she gets any time at all to set up orbs, shooting them like a shotgun and then throwing another one for a knock-up (max rank W) is pretty impressive AoE CC. Spheres stick around for 8 seconds and the CD is 3 at max, before CDR. Max CDR puts it around a 2 second CD? 4-5 orbs flying out in a cone if you time it right is not a bad shot.
