EDIT: namely just tear + chalice. like anivia even needs AP to kill creeps.
Alright then. Now I want to try Anivia.

I think Sivir is definitely a contender with the big 3. She doesn't have an escape, but with QSS and cleanse, she can get out of 3 different CC. Her ult basically gives you a huuuuuge advantage in team fights and small skirmishes. And her W spikes her damage so much.

If I recall correctly the issue with Anivia and Ziggs (and many other candidates) is that they don't hit the critical point necessary for easy wave clearing before Azubu's aggressive push timing. I could be mistaken, but I believe that was a point Soniv made when I brought up those same champions. Viktor is the counter because he reaches the critical threshold extremely early (2 Doran's + Augment), doesn't need Blue buff to clear an extended number of waves, and is extremely safe under the tower thanks to his area stun and AoE damage. Sadly, only iG plays Viktor at all, let alone at a competitive level.
Regardless you want to have multiple options for your anti-push. If Viktor is the only answer then it's fairly simple for Azubu to ban him. While that might open up a potentially troublesome champion, that's better than having the foundation of your strategy countered.
It's likely that a combination of champions will work just as well given that the plan is to hold them off 4v5. While Anivia or Ziggs alone might not be able to handle it, factoring in junglers/top lanes and even supports with clearing ability could make the difference.

That's why I play Cait to be different (and she's fun, imo), but then Cait late game. I still play Ez and Corki all the time despite them being popular. Because they're way more fun than the other AD carries. I agree that I don't think these nerfs will change anything. I think Riot should consider buffing some of the other AD carries to accommodate for their lack of escapes rather than further nerfing Ez/Corki/Graves. Because the only way to end those three champions dominance would be to change their kits around or to nerf them so hard that their damage isn't worth the fact that they have good escapes. Honestly, I don't even think that Ez/Corki/Graves nerfs are even warranted. AD carry choice is driven more by the types of team-comps they fit than specific ones being "OP". Ez/Corki/Graves are popular right now because among ADs, they're the 3 strongest midgame teamfighters--and currently teams heavily favor midgame teamfight-oriented comps. It wasn't that long ago that Ashe/Vayne/Kog were the AD carries of choice just because the team comps to play were lategame 4-protects-1 teams. We'll probably see everything cycle around again once people find ways to break down mid-game focused play. It might not be via the effective health abuse comps/synergies I proposed, but I don't think the current meta is so solid as to be immutable without Riot's intervention. Soniv's already shut down at least one Azubu wannabe team with Viktor's ability to fend off pushes 4v5. It probably won't be long before someone else figures that out, or finds another champion or champion combination with similar efficacy. We already know that Anivia can stop pushes and stall games into the late game. I think Ziggs can too, he clears stupidly quick and his minefield is a pretty decent deterrent to a team that wants to engage. I don't play much Viktor but I could see his stun-slow-ball-orb thing being good for dissuading aggression while also clearing waves quickly. I could see CLGeu's stall forever strategy bringing more late game focused comps that require champions like Trist or Kog into play. Hell we've seen them play like that against M5 and win with it before.
This is why everytime i see a CLGEu game come on i cut it off, because its not entertaining at all to watch.

None of the "big three" can escape CC without Cleanse/QSS.
I agree, Sivir is a great pick, especially in certain lanes.
I think a big buff for her would be making her shield block Corki's Phosphorous Bombs.

Request: A drunk 1400 elo friend who mains Rumble has challenged me (a 1700 Yorick main hue) to a duel. The rules are as follows: FB or first tower down, only top lane fighting. Taking jungle creeps is allowed. He HAS to play Rumble, I HAVE to play Yorick. Tips for masteries and item build? I think Meki Pendant + 2hp should be my start, with either flash TP or clarity TP as summoners. I was thinking about going Meki--> Chalice--> boots 1--> Spirit Visage. All this time I spam HP pots cos hue.
Any thoughts? It's for 70 euro's so it's sorta a big deal.

I dont think Clarity is the best idea. Flash / TP seems the way to go. Like flash out of Rumble ult, etc.

i dont think you need flash at all consider going clarity/tp so you free up cash to spend on other stuff
i'd go with ad reds, mp5/lvl yellows, flat MR blues and probably hp5 quints
you could open doran blade with clarity/tp and start autoing minions and spamming E every cooldown on the rumble. keep pushing and harrassing. if he's smart he'll have TP too. if he doesn't you harrass him down, go home to buy more items and TP back then kill the turret when you get back.
another option is to get promote and then getting usual mana stuff

From the lol wiki
Phosphorous Bomb pops spell shield.
It blocks it, it's just not particularly feasible to hit spellshield before phosbomb hits.
Sivir's really close to being among the top 3 ADs, she just relies heavily on mechanics to lane properly due to her short range and lack of gap closer. Also, between her ultimate and her passive, her kiting ability is superb. The problem is, again, due to her short range, it's difficult to teamfight with her, especially with the difficulty of making sure to abuse the AA resets inherent in her kit to do maximum damage while kiting.

Cheese him. Jungle creeps are allowed so:
Runes:
AD reds, mp5/level yellows or hp/level, flat MR blues, whatever quints you want
Masteries: 9/21 or 9/14/7.
Gameplay.
You'll want to test this in a custom a few times beforehand, you may have to change masteries/runes to enable you to do this.
Grab teleport+ignite or TP+heal
Open dorans
Grab your blue/his blue at level 1 (maybe wolves as well, I don't know if it's feasible to do though), recall, buy pots and then teleport to lane. You're level 2 from taking blue and with blue, spam ghouls nonstop and yorick should CRUSH rumble's face in early.

Where as someone with the dash/valk/flux they don't even get hit by the cc because they get out of range. So if you're getting cleanse to use as an escape along with flash you're not getting heal. We're assuming that the other 3 would be using a QSS if sivir does as well. @__@ Hence where I said that you're giving up a summoner spell to use her because you're running cleanse instead of heal just to make her a viable top tier pick. You mind as well just run one of the other 3 instead, that is all I'm pointing out. :>

It seems that it might still be possible to buy a second hand ticket (with a steep price, but money is somewhat secondary because I am moving back to Canada soon and it is even more costly to go to a future event due to travelling/hotel), but I can't find any info about LoL events on the PAX Prime website. So can anyone enlighten me as to what can I expect for LoL events?
Also I know you can get skin codes at PAX. Is it for free? Which ones will be available? How many can I expect to receive? Which day would they be available in case I just want a one-day pass?

Skin codes should be available every day of the event and should be in grab bags. I'd assume ro8 is Friday, semis is Saturday, finals/3rd place match is Sunday.
I'll be at PAX all three days with some tf2 buds who don't play LoL so if any TLers are there feel free to PM me.
