Problem with AP varus is he doesnt scale hard enough with AP. His ult might have ap scaling but you dont use it enough or have it even do enough in a teamfight (prob wont get more then 2 hits off it). While there is AP scaling on his W aswell the health % is 0.01 so needs major AP and the passive damage would indeed be nice but as said before by the time it actualy starts mattering your entering lategame and you just want the scaling AD gives.
In the end i do believe the superior scaling of AD (through the synergy between crit/asp/dmg) will always win out.

All of this discussion on Alistar combos and nobody has mentioned REW yet? I think being able to gap-close to your allies with a 200% heal is definitely worth the "wasted" ult cooldown sometimes...

I'm a little slow on the uptake and still not sure exactly what this means after it's been stated several times. What are the mechanics behind the combo that make it 100% for allies. Just a glitch/bug? Think it's related to the double aoe damage buff they supposedly patched out, shake used to abuse it with morde E all the time aswell.

Now this is just plain trolling, everyone knows R doesn't give bonus AP anymore.

His R gives bonus ad now though. I use it in conjunction with wq while ganking or pushing towers.

Best damage bug was the one where if something died while a spell was being cast the game would reallocate that damage to the targets that still got hit. So if Annie dropped tibbers on a champ and a minion, but the minion died before the damage ticked but after it was registered as supposed to take damage tibbers would double up on the champion.
I think I remember one screenshot from over the summer in a GD thread where tibbers dealt tripple damage to someone.

*Especially when you don't know your shit been taken. Tax whichever laner wasn't guarding your jungle allowing it to be invaded. Nothing I hate more than assholes sitting at towers waiting for minions to spawn.
Yeah and game descends into even more whining since u never gank steal my creeps blah blah.

The discussion is more about hybrid Varus than straight AP Varus. Straight AP fails because without attack speed you can't apply blight stacks quickly or safely. His ult is an afterthought (though a sweet, delicious one), it's abusing W which is really the goal of the build.

That kennen vlad combo is such bullshit since m5 started using it it like never loses lol.
You can't split push because of vlad and kennen+vlad have really strong poke and sustain as well as strong teamfighting.

Lvl 6 1k dmg tibbers. Ya it came in a patch right after they fixed the double damage bug where you could doublecast aoe spells, so I argued that it wasnt bugged, cuz riot said they fixed it.
Then I did the math to prove my point and realized that it wasnt a double damage bug. It trippled.

So is anyone running Heal anymore since the nerf?

What's the current state of CV vs Exhaust for Support nowadays?

Heal more than anything has been what killed burst comps IMO. Soraka+AD carry with heal was just almost unburstable. AD carries gained a lot in power since heal came around.
