Force of nature currently isn't 0.35% HP/5. Currently it's:

"Unique: Restores 0.35% of your champion's maximum health every second."

Which is 1.75% HP5. Which is the exact same as what's "changed" on PBE.

It's one of those things that I'm going to have to really wait to use to make a good judgement, but I think the numbers on it are WAY too high. Just looking at it, it seems like it does too much. But I'm a pretty terrible theorycrafter - need to rely on experience and experimentation.

I do want to meet whoever is making these changes though. He clearly wants to be best friends with AP mids.

lets look at your Viktor build for instance:

Core:

Boots
WotA
Rylai's
Dcap

and we will even pretend to be fair that augment does not take a slot. now we have 2 slots to play with, one of which I think you must commit to either void staff or abyssal depending on the other teams builds.

so here is your choice: Zhoyna's, Situational defensive item, new chalice, DFG
it isn't unusable, but it's a 6th item at best and I just don't understand the amount of excitement surrounding it

edit: regarding Veigar my argument is simply if you don't already buy chalice it's not that amazing, also Veigar is dfg reliant, so a lot of the upgrade will go to waste read:you are buying it for the passive.

everyone is forgetting about the tiny master of evil! chalice and codex are already strong on him, combining them into a stronker item would be nice.

Every item and balance decision Riot makes is about pushing power out of the early game. Its what the jungle changes did. Its what the Red change did. Its what every balance change is. Remember when Malz and Annie had no problem 150-0 someone?

Its pretty clear that Riot is TRYING to hard code that into the game. And then wonder why they have a passivity problem in lane.

I don't know, I've already learned how to play with Swain's mana costs. I don't see how additional mana regen would significantly alter Swain's patterns/habits; the mana chokepoint is the burst of a prolonged ult, not a long term thing. The length of a sustainable ult is more or less constant, regardless of regen.

That said, I haven't really played with Chalice on Swain. I'll try something like Catalyst->Chalice->ROA. Be a complete dick in lane. Usually don't need ROA straight away, and the Chalice is only 800 gold out.

for swain I will actually argue in favor of the new item. it seems to be synergistic with the fact that going in for the kill as Swain generally does involve going into Raven form for an extended period of time, especially in teamfights.

@below there was a red post stating the galio ninja nerfs were likely not permanent, trust that if you wish.

As a Galio player...I am really happy with the new item made of Chalice of Harmony...after the recent nerf, I thought I would never be playing Galio again...well...I probably will finnally since he kind of got a buff now...

Magic resist runes got nerfed recently...which gave a nerf to galio...
Nerf on his spells...

But now that the first item Galio MUST have can be transformed in a strong ap item, I believe Galio will stop being so useless late game since he will be able to get fed like everyother champion now...which is very good!

Meh, it's neat but it's at beast a 4th - 5th item for me on Galio. I already open up Chalice -> Mercs -> Abyssal -> Deathcap. I suppose if I don't need armor at that point of the game (say double ap, kogmaw bot and mao kai jungle or something, perfect galio circumstances), I'd get it next instead of Glacial Shroud for my CDR + Tankiness wants.

What about LeBlanc stacking magic pen runes going Chalice, Haunting Guise, and Mobility boots? Never run oom, roam around, be an early/mid game terror, and always escape when caught. I don't think she would need the Unholy Grail because at level 16 the ultimate costs 0 mana, but the active could allow you to deal with heals/tons of lifesteal in team fights, with out needing ignite, so you can go flash/ghost which I've liked better than ignite for a long time.

Well, it's absurd to ever consider Viktor while pretending his augment doesnt take an item slot. And I have no intentions to build the new chalice item on him because of this. It just won't fit in any convenient manner.

I pretty much agree. If you look at viktor's augment, it is an extremely efficient mid game item. 1000g for 45 AP (+3/lvl) and the death improvement is ridiculous. If they could somehow incorporate that into other items, they could get a start on actually good mid game items.
