The idea is its a defensive item with other stats that can be quite useful to certain champions. It gives you a well rounded option at a reasonable price to have strong mid game survivability. Having a single stat defensive item that builds into something bigger isnt as strong because you get no multiplication affect. Not until you actually finish the item are you getting the full benefit of the slot spent on it. It's true you aren't getting the full benefit of the item you are going to build a chain vest into until you finish the upgrade, but the chain vest itself is very competitive with SV. The idea of an item like SV is that its strong in the mid game when you first finish it. As the game goes on, sure, having completed the deathcap instead of having its components would make a big difference. But, if the SV has given you an advantage early on that you might otherwise not of had, then you'll be at a very similar spot. In the late game, its always possible to sell it for another item of hiring value, and its resell price is much better than doran's which is an item commonly brought for the same purpose as i propose for SV - to give you a stronger mid game leading into your first major item purchase. Its not uncommon for a player to buy 3 dorans rings on an AP mid to acquire some extra early power... This has a very similar cost to buying a SV, yet the rings take 2 additional slots and resell for significantly less. You are incorrectly assuming I think midrange items are bad generally. On vladimir, SV gives you no offence while giving you defensive stats that you can get without delaying your core significantly anyways. You could get negatron+finish your wota (or get a blasting wand if you already have wota) and you get MR, more damage, healing, and health cuz of your passive. Sure CDR is nice and I like to get kindlegem if I don't have enough gold to buy a bigger item and sell it later on if I get to the point where I start getting blue pots but I still feel getting SV after wota on vladimir just isn't worth it in most cases. SV imo works better for those sustain dependent bruisers who rely on their base damage while building tanky. Vlad's primary role is still to do damage. | ||

The most fun lane was with Ezrael (vs graves & cow). So much poke. Afterwards the enemy graves complemented me and said he was going crazy with the dodging. A nice tip for people who want to have some fun. Its absolutely awesome. Just need to ban soraka :D | ||

No one knows how well blitz really scales, not even clg apparently when they ran support blitz n gave the farm to alis. Attackspeed buff and AD duplicator(this the right word?!) apparently not as good as having cc. | ||

it reverbs and causes my speakers to crackle. i think the crackling is in the soundfile, i dont think my headphones would crackle from that and i heard hear it when i used them and started a game. | ||

Pretty much this. Even if the Cass is terrible and misses almost every q, they just have to hit one and there goes half of your hp from the twing fang followup. If you miss a q as Lux, she can be in your face and zone you off of creeps for the next 10-15 seconds or so. The Cass has to be criminally bad for the Lux to even have a chance. | ||
