I pretty much just play Irelia, and the nerfs mean no one picks her but me, and it definitely separates good Irelias from greater ones. Her laning pre-9 is still more difficult, but if you can make it to 9 without feeding and farming up it's about the same as it was before. Yeah, I feel the same way. If you don't feed and are able to just last hit at tower/freeze the lane, then you're in good shape and will be a monster mid-late game. My main problem is that she already got bullied pretty hard by some tops before the nerf (Riven and Olaf are 2 perfect examples) and the idea is that if you can survive that portion of the game, you should be able to start winning against them around 8-11. Idunno, just my take on it. The nerf took her retarded matchups and made them even harder to play. I felt that maybe if they made her W last a second or 2 longer or if they had hit her restoration by 25% (so I'm bad at math but I believe that is 19.5 hp/strike at lvl 5 W) it would have been a much more reasonable nerf. 50% just seemed WAY too harsh imo. riven and olaf are two really good lanes for irelia though Really =O ?
riven is definitely manageable for irelia, olaf is a pretty even lane

nah thats completely wrong lol, if you were to go head to head just 1v1 both of those champs annihilate irelia. luckily junglers exist so its an easy lane to camp with irelia's stun
once they get behind irelia can start dominating just like any other top matchup, top lane sucks

Actually Irelia outscales the crap out of them both, and actually becomes a bigger threat in team fights. Riven and Olaf win early, but unless Irelia misses a ton of creeps (lol how??) or gets camped, she won't have a problem. You can't effectively dive her, with out eating ignite + ewautoqauto while the turret is hitting you, unless its a two or more man dive.

Awesome, that looks flawless...
I'm now glaring at SC2

holy shit that spectator mode looks pretty sweet.

I wonder what spectator mode is going to do to streaming?
I would certainly rather watch ingame than some shitty res stream. I'm hoping this will drive players to really commentate and add content to their streams to keep competitive.

That timeshift thing sounds pretty damn great. Being able to jump around freely during a live game. For an arbitrary number of independent spectators. That's gotta cost them some server capacities.
I wonder if this will leave a dent in stream viewer numbers. It certainly will encourage people who usually don't watch streams to watch games, but some people who were watching streams might switch over for all the cool stuff. Well, pros still could scrim more, without spectators, and encourage people to watch their streams that way.

Timeshift Controls
We know how frustrating missing an important moment while viewing a heated battle on the Fields of Justice can be. So to prevent you from ever missing a beat, we’ve added the Timeshift controls to Spectator Mode. Through Timeshift you can rewind, slow down, or even pause the live game you’re observing to take in all the action at your own pace. Once you’re done, you can fast forward or jump ahead to catch back up with the progress of the match.
Absolutely fantastic.

Depends on how many of the games of the top streamers will be accesible through this. They just said they will make "some" available for spectating. We will have to wait and see what that means in practice.
Overall all of that sounds damn sweet thzough. This spectator mode will be a milestone for LoL.

I don't buy that one bit in regards to early levels. Riven has one of the best level 3 fights in the game and Olaf just lawlz at Irelia. Like I said though, if Irelia makes it to later levels without feeding+she has decent farm, she should be able to start beating them.

Excellent, finally something to do while I wait for a friend or duo partner to get out of a game, I can watch them and criticize them while they play :D
But yeah, it definately seems great. I can't wait to check it out, wonder how they're going to determine who's going to be a "featured spectator". Maybe they just have a bunch of people working there that watch featured streamers and check what scrims are going on? That'd be pretty sweet, imo.
Anyone know if there is cross-server spectating? Or do I just need to make a smurf on a different server and watch then? Also, I wonder if having too many spectators causes lag...
|
I know people have said this already but that is just awesome that they finally included drop in spectating! :D. I'm seriously so hyped for this lol.
|
i hope that this new spectator mode doesn't hurt streamers too much. it seems like most people would probably rather watch the game themselves with their own spectating then on a stream, but maybe not.

The setback with Spec mode is that you need to be friends with the player in order to spectate his games. Or get lucky and have a friend be playing against that player.
You average player isn't highly ranked in solo queue and as a result, probably won't have pros on his buddy list. They'll still have to resort to watching streams.

maybe riot could do some kind of revenue share with the featured games players. i dont know maybe run some ads during the 3 min timer or similar. because i think when possible people would rather spectate than watch a stream (depending on if the streamer commentates well i guess)

I remember when they released something similar on ICCUP before bw sort of died out... it was so cool.
|
I wonder if you get some sort of notification when your buddies start watching you. I'd sure be embarrassed if people were watching me derp around half my games...

I know, but it's up to Riot on how often they set up Featured Games. If it's anything like Featured Streams, it would be a little disappointing.
