I'm starting my ranked games again and this time with the proper mindset/preparation - being able to fill all roles, knowing why I play (gaining ELO up to a point where I can consistently play the role/champ I want) and such. So basically I arranged a roster of champions that can either carry the game hard or cripple the enemy enough that even AD carries with 10 cs at 30 minutes can carry. I am however short a spot on my top lane roster. Basically what I want for toplane is some form of CC (doesn't matter if hard or soft) and obviously hard carry potential. The full roster so far looks like this: Jungle: Nocturne, Skarner, Shaco Mid: Ahri, Sion, Brand AD: Corki, Graves, Kog'Maw Top: Gangplank, Tryndamere, missing Support: Lulu, Janna, Sona I was thinking about Riven, but apart from her great lane control through stuns she lacks a bit sustain and is not that good at raping 1v5 (as GP and Trynd, that is). I'm not sure about Olaf, I really like his "I do damage to you and you will die if you have less +hp than me" approach. I played against a couple Olafs, and even tho getting a couple kills early on as soon as they get just the tiniest +hp items they rape me. But then again it's a double edged sword, no idea how he would fare against four or five champs. Any other champ suggestions? Maybe even the infamous Irelia? Or... TEEMO?! :D Edit: I love Singed btw, but I really dont like being behind for most of the laning phase/dieing early/not able to fight back, even tho he is undying in later stages. Also not much of a carry potential there I think? | ||

Olaf isn't about smashing you with true damage. It's a huge component in lane (or gank bursts, etc. from the jungle) early on, but late game it's only about smashing carries fast. The tricky part is managing your ult and W during full-on teamfights so that you can abuse your lifesteal, passive and huge AD steroid to stay alive. Olaf is nothing w/ those spells on cd lategame, except for forcing a fed carry to deal with him because of E. Just went top against Teemo as Olaf. All was fine as long as I could hit Q to follow with a E until he got phage. One proc, and even with a Q on him I couldn't chase unless I used my ult. Which I couldn't because then I have to kill him during its duration or get blinded and possibly killed right after. That little midget is so annoying! And it becomes even worse as the game gos on because he itemizes health and AS and gets levels in his W so it's even harder to run for him. Better kill the rest of his team, global taunt won't catch me. :< Edit @above link: Also, we finally a FIRST WIN OF THE DAY timer has been added to summoner profile pages. Yes! Also Varrus seems like he does a lot of magic damage. Could it be a try at some physical ranged caster instead of an AD carry? T_T | ||

Aside from the fact that hecarim is a pony and is supposed to be a fast moving champion (not in terms of dashes/blinks but more because of his movespeed thingy along with the passive) he seems kinda meh. Btw where does akali stand nowadays? I'm mostly asking about solo-queue rather than in the competitive scene. | ||

She can go mid or top (better mid, imo), and does well by harassing/pushing then roaming once she hits 6. I seem to be the only one really psyched about Hecarim. Imma jungle him all day, MS ganks, ignoring creeps, nice sustain, and that ult looks great. Thinking tanky dps (FoN/TF core), maybe Shurelia's for burst item use, etc. Sheen proc on that TF seem great with his high base AD and spammy Q (2 second CD as long as you hit things). Seems like he'd do OK top, but have a Morde issue of pushing too hard if you hit any buttons since it's all AoE aside from E. As primarily a jungler, he looks like a nice addition to my roster. | ||

I'm kind of withholding judgement about him. On paper there isn't really anything new about his kit, so I'll wait and see if he's good. I'm not as excited for him as I'm for varrus. | ||
