I'd really appreciate it if someone could try to explain why we lost that match and what we could've done better.
Really should've ganked mid after you did red at 3mins. Cass was badly overextended. Bunch of missed opportunities on ganks mid in the first 5 mins or so. Got one top so it's not a huge deal, although you didn't need to exhaust to get that kill.
The top skirmish around 6ish was really bad. You could've finished backing before nocturne came close and instead cancelled it with .5 seconds, then you kept wanting to go in on a fight you'd almost certainly lose since it was against full hp nid and full hp, red buff + freshly bought items noct. They got too scared to fight you, but they really should've.
The mid gank at ~9:30 was frought with misplays. Ahri tried to save ult (?) and not ult in close to charm/damage Cass, so she was able to dodge the initial burst. Then Ahri decided to ult and go in when you had started to walk away and then you exhausted Cass when she was at like 10% hp (pretty much wasted it). Ahri also didn't react to Nid being mia and died when she really shouldn't have. Meanwhile, you stayed on their Noct too long knowing Nid was coming / already there. Had you switched off sooner and/or had exhaust still, you could've come out better than 1-1 (2-0, 2-1, or 1-0, depending on how things were used).
The point of lane ganking is to avoid the typically placed wards. At ~12 minutes you come bot and try to come up the lane, but at the same time show yourself in range of the tribush, defeating the purpose. At this point, mid is even, top is losing by 30 cs, and bot is winning by 20 cs. At 12:45 you have full vision on Nidalee going to your blue and nobody reacts for 20+ seconds, giving away your blue when you had 3 people in range to kill her.
You had a more or less strong position to force dragon at 14 minutes, but MF somehow walked into the enemy team, then instead of backing once MF had flashed into dragon pit and lived, you guys tried to half-ass it between wanting to keep poking and wanting to back, which ended up costing you multiple deaths and dragon. Since MF was so low and you knew there were at least 3 people there, you should've immediately backed toward mid and not tried to stay there poking.
Ahri kept making the mistake of jumping at Cass and not taking a step away which cost her multiple deaths to Cass's ult.
At this point, every lane is losing. Mid is even on CS, down 2 kills. Bot is up 10 cs, down 3 kills. Top is down 50 cs and down 1 kill. Jungle is up 1 kill, down 10 cs. Enemy team is up 1 dragon and one tower. You're roughly behind 3-4k gold here and 1 level across the board.
The second dragon fight was very poorly played. You, as mentioned earlier, are behind quite a bit (levels, gold). You're in position to not give up a free dragon, but your team positions horribly. At almost all points before the fight, 2+ are walking around inside the dragon pit, which is a dead end once the fight starts. Your carries don't want to have nowhere to kite toward. Since Taric eats something like Nid spear + Ez Q and some other poke, he's immediately out of the fight and they can just jump in. Since your team was badly positioned to start, they just cleaned up from that.
At no point in this game were you ahead more than a slight margin. The reason Nid got so fed was because of multiple small mistakes that she kept punishing, such as your team not backing off dragon when MF was nearly killed, your team not reacting to the blue steal, your team not reacting to her leaving top during a mid gank, etc. Top laned okay, but he's Yorick and Yorick can't really not lane okay. He needed to farm better. Mid made a significant number of misplays, notably with not positioning to handle Cass ults, not ulting to get better odds on landing skill shots, and missing skillshots by wide margins in general. MF is generally a lane dominator, but seemed to laning very passively. I'm not really well versed on MF/Taric vs Ez though. You seemed too set on doing a full double clear on your jungle to gank early when there were several opportunities to do so. Being overly set in when you gank and when you clear is not a good thing. I didn't notice (nor pay much attention to) you carrying wards to jump to for assisting in ganks/escapes.
You lost the game at the two dragon fights more than anything due to bad reactions / positioning.
