Riven needs a big swing from the nerf bat. The combination of the two sounds about the same as riven + anything else.

For shen, im not sure whether the buffs will be very significant, besides for the taunt buff. all the others seem pretty useless, and even the taunt buff is only for like .2 sec..
Edit: Ninja Tabi: UNIQUE Passive: Reduces the damage taken from non-turret basic attacks by 10%.
Someone do the math and find out whether this is better or worse than before, or practically the same in terms of total damage taken
Edit 2: Rereading it, actually the vorpal blade buff for shen is pretty huge. Not sure about stat-wise, but the fact that u regain hp by last hitting with it helps his solo top a lot

Those Shen buffs look massive. And about the level that he honestly needs. Hope they go through!

1. taunt energy buff measn you can actually use your spells in a fight
2. free 40 armour makes feint really good, also feint duration extend is nice
3. health-scaling heal off of vorpal blade means it will actually heal you in the late game
4. cd reduction on minion hit innate means shen jungle would be really viable. more damage is also really good.

Nah. With like 500 AP thats 200 less health, except you rape everyone with your laning phase not sucking now. (It's actually already decent). Vlad's lategame has always been beast a small nerf is incomparable to making him dumb in lane :3

Sounds like they would be cute buffs on all his abilities, but is it enough?
It's cute that single-target abilities gain health on q-marked targets, but that healing never felt that significant in teamfights, since ~20 health per second isn't all that much. I guess the health gain off last hitting is pretty nice for solotop shen though as was mentioned above.
The +40 armor on W makes it synergize a bit with E if used to taunt targets that actually do auto damage... But it's not that huge imo.
Buff to his passive doesn't seem like that big either, a warmogs would give you an extra ~50 damage on which isn't going to make him much less ignorable damage-wise in teamfights.
Still, these many little things could end up being strong I guess.
Edit: I guess I'm thinking lategame/teamfight situations so I may be missing parts of the whole package.

they just need to give shen back his own shield on his ult
actually just reverting shen to where he was pre-recent nerfs (like... 6 months ago recent, not release recent)
back then he was considered OP but amongst all the shit that flies now, he'd be just perfect

Was shen op back then or just really fucking annoying? Cuz I dont ever remember him being op on terms of someone like rammus pre powerball nerfs, just really annoying to deal with because you had to constantly remind yourself he would fuck you.

People were just taking every hp and ap rune/mastery they could get and would come into lane with some 40 ap and 700 hp and wrecking shit even with his high cd's. Now he should be closer to every single other ap.

shen is going to be the ultimate counter to riven in toplane
already is a pain in the butt

I really think the Ki strike change will make Shen solo top a beast. he can duel you in the minion wave and get a free 100 or so magic damage every other hit while the armor from feint makes him a lot harder to harass back, and his sustain is a lot better with the last hitting change.
not to mention he doesn't need to take teleport like other top laners

teleport is even more important than shen on other laners
you're implying he doesn't need teleport because of his ult
but his ult takes you OUT of lane, doesn't put you in lane
you need TP to go back to lane after you save teammates ass

this shen would be perfect in today's game:

* Ki Strike:
o Damage gained from health reduced to 3.5% from 4%.
o Cooldown reduction on champion hit reduced to 2 from 3.
* Vorpal Blade: damage reduced to 50/95/140/185/230 from 50/100/150/200/250.
* Feint: base block amount reduced to 40/70/100/130/160 from 40/75/110/145/180.
* Stand United: cooldown increased to 180/150/120 from 150/135/120.
at least i think that's the patch
his ult still shielded him, he was a lane dominator to the extreme
he could support, he could solo, he could jungle (slowly but safely)
he was not a lategame powerhouse
that shen would be perfect in this power zone today
