Want to rage about your latest loss? Use the QQ thread. If you whine in GD, you'll get warned. ===== + Show Spoiler +If your [Stream] thread was moved to the general TL Stream subforum (aka SC stream land), find your thread and PM it to me and I'll move it back to LoL territory. I can argue with staff that moving a non-SC thread into a SC subforum is just asking for that thread to get buried.

Thats the philosophy anyways. I think the only exception to the scaling rule might be chogath. "Tanks" don't have scaling mr but generally ad steriody bruisers do.

I think it's specifically melee AD that get bonus MR when they level. The only exceptions I can think of are Sion and Kassadin, but they're assholes.

Well technically Sion's kit is designed to be a melee AD bruiser.

Generally melee dps champs like irelia, mundo, xin, wukong, etc get scaling MR but "tanks" like shen, rammus, amumu, leona don't.

Hey all. A friend and I have been playing for a week or so. Neither of us are particularly good, but we have fun playing at whatever incredibly low level we're at. That being said, I'd like to maximize our win rate. We dual queue, and generally call bot together in every circumstance, to take advantage of our ability to communicate.
My friend prefers to play high health, melee champions. currently he mains Dr. Mundo. I'm flexible, but would prefer to play a carry, as I'm better at last hitting and less prone to walking blindly into ganks.
My question is: what are some good champs to get with the idea of dual lane bot? Any advice would be much appreciated.

His health is relatively high, he is a melee, he sort of works as a support. I figure Leona could work, too. Considering AD Carries, people say Cait is one of the easier ones to pick up. Personally, I think it's about which kit clicks the best with you. I've been experimenting with various AD carries and results and have come to the conclusion that Corki works best for me. He's mobile, he has a nuke, his passive is insane and also helps last hitting, his kit is great for both dueling and farming, due to his build, he's one of the beefier ADs, too. Not that you ever want to get touched as an AD anyways, but yeah.
People will probably reccomend Cait though. She has a great AA animation, her range is insane, she can both shove a lane to a tower and freeze it in front of yours effortlessly, she has an escape.

Taric/alistar also would work.

I'd recommend trist as a carry to start with instead of cait, because trist is free and cait is 6300 IP.
Trist is also more fun imo.

Last hitting with Tristana is not easy early on. I suggest Sivir- 450 IP and she can kite easily and does a lot of damage. She snowballs pretty hard too.

I've been saving for a new tanky champ and its down to getting shen mumu or rammus, but i dont really know which one is "better" then the others

All of them require jungling with the possible exception of shen. If you are going to jungle, I would say rammus.

Have hard time with mumu. I think rammus needs less farm to tank effectively. Eventually you can turn on your shield and walk into the middle of five enemies and turn on your ultimate. If they attack you they lose. If they don't get away from you and attack your team they lose. YOU MUST do jungle Rammus otherwise early on you're hurting your team by leeching EXP. Don't be afraid of jungling. In the new jungle Rammus can jungle with no masteries or runes. You just have to be smart. I often donate blue early on since he's so good at jungling and I barely have a runepage. Sometimes I start 13 pots just so I can jungle longer (trading gold for ganks and exp).
If you can't jungle then try mumu or shen. I don't really think amumu is a great laner either unless he can catch someone from the brush with his bandages.
Just to add to the MR discussion. Only one ranged champion has naturally scaling MR and that's nidalee. I read the wiki page recently and I don't think most people will read it. Assassins and bruisers generally have scaling MR meaning that AP champions deal 16.7% less damage to these guys at level 18 when there is no other MR in play.

I think one of the major weaknesses of tanks like Amumu, Udyr and Rammus (depending on how the match is going) is their complete lack of poke, they either completely engage or aren't doing any damage. If you want to be able to poke once and a while some champions that can do that while also going tanky and being capable of good initiations are Gangplank, Malphite, and Maokai(Probably some others, but those are the three that come most to mind for me). Obviously it significantly depends on your team's and the enemy team's composition, there's no one size fits all champion.
|
if you're not confident with skillshots i wouldn't recommend amumu, his ult is absolutely gamechanging but when it's on CD you'll be borderline useless
i'd also recommend udyr and skarner, they can both be really tanky, never get banned at low elo and are much better in lane than rammus and amumu
