Same for me, DotA is really connected with the wc3 models/lore/engine for me.

The only reason I don't play is because the character design looks so much different and a lot worse for me :3

I dont have a key, and i prefer LoL (gameplay) design over DotA, but i always liked the look of WC3, its funky, silly low poligon 3d, things look colorful. Similar as in LoL, its criticized for cartoonish graphics, i think thats one main advantage, everything is clear and easy to see. DotA2 graphics look depressing and too pastel for me. Everything is brown or blue or black, even red and yellow seems like mud.
So yeah, its a letdown for me.

I think I might be one of the few here who never played dota :3
That being said, I did sign up for the dota2 beta, and I definitely wanna try it. One thing I noticed though from watching a couple streams is it seems everything is too hard to distinguish. That might just be because I'm not used to it, but there are times in LoL when it's tough to see what's happening in a team fight, and dota seems even less discernible.

It's all because you're not used to it. I haven't played Dota1 for like 2 years and I probably wouldn't see shit now. Same with HoN. When I started playing LoL I was like "WTF is this shit you can't see anything, HoN is way better in terms of graphics" and now I think the exact opposite.

I did play HoN a little over the summer, but I'm better at LoL do I enjoyed playing that more than HoN. I do think denying helped improve my cs though. Dota seems more fun than HoN, so I wanna try it.
Another thing is that items seem pretty complicated. The HoN item shop was not noob proof by any means. Hopefully if I get a beta key, someone can bare with my nubbishness and walk me through shit haha

I was just messing around in normals yesterday with jungle, on hit fizz. It's really fun. Not sure how viable it is cuz my team fed the shit out of talon, but I enjoyed myself. So many numbers with red buff. O_O

Don't underestimate the +mana mastery. It's pretty amazing for champions with small manapools and expensive spells (aka ranged ADs).
