Why would you want Renekton to become buffed? what does he need buffing exactly?

Screw it, I'm sticking to bruisers and Teemo. I think the ranged AD carry has the least influence on the game except you bring in some huge utility like ashe does. The carry's farm is at least 50% dependand on the support. If you just assume that the ad carry can lasthit properly then its even less than that. For most ad carries it all comes down to positioning and farming. Not taking away anything from them but the other roles kinda bring so much more important stuff that I have at least the feel that this is somewhat true.

-Support don't know what it means when I say "don't last hit" -They don't buy wards, and I really don't want to spend my gold on that -People don't call mia and I'm squishy as fuck -They need to figure out what "protect the carry" means in team fights. So I'm just going to play characters that can fight 2v1 and not die instantly and try to save games when my teammates lose lane as habit. When I am the only one who ends on my team with a positive K/D ratio and I have twice as many tower kills and assists as the next person, I punch a baby.

Realize that while your support might be retarded, it's solo queue--your opponents are very likely to be equally retarded. Particularly when it comes to the stronger laning ADs like Caitlyn, if you're playing a lot better than your retarded opponents you can virtually win the lane by yourself with your support doing next to nothing. If your positioning is good, it shouldn't matter a lot of the time in solo queue when the opposing team jumps on your team's Amumu and lets you autoattack everyone the whole fight, particularly if you're choosing the more self-sufficient carries like Vayne and Caitlyn over the team-dependent ones like MF or Ashe that have less outs. Honestly, I'd hardly say any one role is better than another in solo queue. It's just a matter of comfort--if you're good at playing a given role, you'll win as that role. If you're having a hard time at a different role, it's probably just that you're worse at playing it rather than it actually being harder to carry with.

Being a good support or good AD isn't gonna reap as many rewards as being a good top or mid. If your lane phase depends partially on another player then for soloque you might aswell be playing russian roullete.

Mid elo: Mid and bot decide the game. Top has relatively little influence on fights that could set up a dragon. High elo: All lanes important. At all elos: Jungler can be anything from useless to carry. From 1200 to 1700, I carried lots of game pretty hard as Cait or Kog. Vayne, Corki, Ezreal also have strong carry qualities at all elos. Ashe and Urgot not so much as they lack in damage and/or ability to win lanes. Cait seems to fall off a bit around the 1500-1700 elo range currently as she lacks a bit during midgame with bad teams.

I've lost too many games as solotop garen where I dominate my lane, go like 5-0 with twice the farm of my opponent and lose anyways because my mid/bot do bad/mediocre and they keep losing dragon fights and such.

Am I just psyching myself out here or is there a good way to get into ranked aside from just jumping in? Also I only own 17 champions and I feel truly comfortable with maybe 7; will that hold me back? This also worries me because if my main for a certain role gets banned I'll be out of luck. For instance in normal queue I usually jungle for my team and I feel pretty comfortable with the role. Problem is my two best junglers are Lee Sin and Noct, both common bans ><. SInged would be my first pick for solo top but he is banned a lot as well from what I've seen. I guess I could learn support. I figure that at lower ELO teams will be short a support champ more often than a jungler. Can I carry the team as a support though? and what support champion is the best for learning the role?

There's not a lot of positive emotional feedback, you watch your number go up, you watch your number go down.

This is so true. Solo top (once you're out of the feedfests where you can go 5-0) is more like "try to outfarm the other guy/kill him with a good junglegank", while mid and bot have all the fun and dragon fights. =( Sidenote: Imo you're completely underrating Urgot. He's a beast in terms of damage and raping his lane early on, carrying it to victory with an early advantage. I'd not play him vs Cait tho. =P

They don't want people with hardly any experience as the new guy in their ranked. These people are already bad at champions they've played 50 times. 2. People at low elo get bodied by something they don't understand. 3. They lost to the new champion last game. 4. It might be OP, they don't really know. Riven was getting bans when I was playing ranked because she was bad and people didn't want one on their team.
