edit: and to reiterate kog's lack of range on autos, at lvl 5, when you's have level 3 w, its still 690, less than lb q edit2: you may sorta-kinda have a chance if you run ap kog and just goop from 1k range, but the cd on that isnt very low, and you'll burn mana like a mother | ||

I may be late to the discussion but this is the same philosophy that Riot supports and it's really quite bad. There are 2 things that happen 1 player kills another (assuming 1v1 lane): killer gets reward (gold), killed person gets no farm for the time of being dead. Lowering the gold reward lessens the reward for agressive play = makes safe play more optimal. 300 gold is +- 20 cs, while it IS a boost, it isn't (IMO) enough to support ganking. So if you go to gank you lose 1-3 waves of creeps in exchange for a CHANCE of getting 4 waves worth of gold. So then only 1 motivation remains - "denying" farm to your opponent (Riot of course nerfed this "reward" as well by reducing respawn timers). While it is important, because weak enemy won't interrupt your farm you can't afford to be agressive to the point where it hurts your farm - because what matters (IMO) in solo queue is not your lane partner being weak but you being strong and carrying. I'd REALLY want to know how the game would have changed if Riot made changes in the exact opposite direction - increasing rewards to something like 500 gold/kill. Of course this change would be too gamebreaking to implement but if they made new game mode (or even option in customs) which would increase gold reward per kills it could be interresting (though i guess at the same time it would support snowballing which used to be one of Riot's biggest concerns - it seems to be hard to balance kills being rewarding vs snowballing, though i think the issue should lie in balancing farm gold vs kill gold). We are reverting the wish nerf to base values and increasing some of Soraka's base stats. We believe that the base heal nerf is unnecessary after observing playtests. If she actually gets changed to be not be bottom 5 squishy, she could totally work as an aggressive support role. Seems like the changes to Taric, Sona, Alistar and Janna are going to be much less severe, too. | ||
