Morgana was the first champion I played, and I stopped playing her because her Q was like a grandma throwing a softball and the fact that players actually can step out of her puddle .____.

the problem with too much gold per kill is you go back to the 5 man gank squad meta. laning HAS to be more profitable than kills. Dota/HoN solve this by having harder carries and making ganking a way to interfere with thier farm. I dunno what LoL is gonna do.

He has a targetable nuke. That automatically makes him significantly stronger than a lot of solo lane heroes whom rely on a skill shot to setup their stuff.

my #1 morgana tip:
if you are roaming around the map and see a low hp enemy bluepilling, for the love god, put a puddle under him first, otherwise he just tp's away while the dark binding is flying towards him. Puddle is instant dmg.
I saw this mistake 3 times today.

I guess I should clarify that I'm not directly comparing the two heroes. I'm just saying, Swain has his own niche, and is a different type of hero that fulfills a different role.

Yeehah, I agree. Swain is going to do better than morg in a lot of situations because his snare isn't a skill shot, although it still has to be manually placed. He also has a ridiculous amount of built in sustain for both health and mana, and his ultimate turns him into a giant bird. How op is that?!??

Playing those two, I find Morgana more efficient, but perhaps it is because she's the hero I played the most, and my first buy at that.
I'm more often focused as Swain than as Morg, and in those cases I just wish so hard I had Black Shield to ignore those hooks/stuns/bandages/whatever they throw at me while I can't dodge them.
Also, the cooldown on nevermore is so huge at level 1 that it's harder to use it to control the lane. People don't really seem to fear a Torment/Decrepify combo as much as a Tormented Soil/Dark Binding (I even see a lot running out of the AoE as soon as I cast it, instead of taking one more tick to get those last hits they wanted in the first place), and against some AP harasser (like Fiddle) you can't ignore them as much as Morg can due do BS.
Plus, since she's more bursty, it's somewhat easier to trade (I'm not sure I would survive an Annie burst like I can, due to insta-spell vamp regen + BS instead of ult sustain).
I'd rather find them similar in that if you chase them, they've got the tools to make you pay for it (Morg uncatchable due to BS, will wear you down with Dark Binding and Tormented Soil if she's got CDR ; Swain easier to hit, but will constantly tickle you and regen health). Taking down a Morde or a Yi 1v1 after a teamfight because he thought you'd be an easy prey is always fun.
I definitely have more difficulties with Swain because of the slowliness with which he clears waves pre-6 (and need to be close even then) and the fact that people focus you more. I get a lot more kills from my DoT if I can survive the burst and just run around dodging them while letting ult/allies do the damage and regenerating.
I'd love it if Loci was streaming, too.  Constantly hear about his Morg, so I'm curious.

they're very different champs, sure in laning phase they play a bit similar, but morg is more about closerange cc and protection, with a longrange bind, whereas swain is more of a get up in enemy's face and fuck around with the carry. In teamfights they play very different roles

If you play for fun then wins are still wins, but now you care how you win.

Swain counters people in lane. This is huge in top level play where you can counter pick. He also is much harder to kill but morgana is good for her roaming power after clearing waves.

A mechanic I think would be kind of neat to see, in light of all the support changes, would be a single target channelled heal, like fiddle drain in reverse so it essentially suppresses you until you cancel it . In a carry/support situation, it provides clear risk/reward to both teams, if you give it a long enough cooldown so that you'll want it to actually do something each time you use it. Not that it would probably ever be implemented, just dreaming hopelessly.

IMO, someone needs to write a new character picking guide for newer players. Some of the choices on the current one are extremely outdated/underpowered. (Shen, Twitch, Vladimir).
