Played a few more games with Skarner.
Seriously, why do people call him UP? In the games that i played i found Lee Sin to be troublesome but even then i managed to win the lane.
His E is great harass and great sustain, it lets you sit in the lane forever and for it's low mana cost it's a good way to slap someone around. You just have to keep in mind to only use E in the lane because otherwise you start running into mana problems.
Gunblade > Boots > Tri force
Works like a charm, let's you catch everyone and kill everyone whilst not dying.

i honestly think if you played him more like a traditional AD carry he would do pretty decently. Use stealth as a steroid, debilitating to kite (i mean it's a 1200 range aoe slow... wtf) and ignore expunge because his poison is true damage.
his ult is threatening because if you ever group up or get caught by mumu or something, your whole team is gonna hurt.
and his ult is also great if a fight starts and it's just not safe. you can plink from way out of range and have plenty of time to react to stuff charging you. i dunno, maybe I'm just trying too hard to convince myself he's a viable carry if you play his as a carry instead of an assasin.

Been gone for two months. Could someone update me a little on the metagame, what's considered super strong and not, etc? Got craploads of money from my summer job so I intend to buy a lot of RP.

Tanky Melee top; Jarvan, Irelia, Garen, WW, Udyr, etc.
Support + Carry bot.

Ashe and Annie are great for learning their specific roles. Tank I'd give to Alistar, Tanky DPS to Irelia. Rest I agree with, along with the reasoning. ur right tanky dps should be irelia but i disagree on tank alistar plays out more like a support than a true tank imo
Building Ali like a tank is a "bad" build but with all the CC cow has, a noob has access to great tools to initiate and keep enemies off his carries.
Singed feels pretty niche. He requires a lot of farm and his team fight priorities are not as straight forward. Just imoimo. I'm taking "ease of play" into big consideration here. Why Irelia is a good pick because of ezpz initiation and no skill shots. Why Ashe really teaches the importance of positioning without a "jump" skill to fall back on as a crutch.

He still has a global so i don't see how he can be bad. I think people just underestimate him. He has a cheap AoE CC and a global ulti.

His laning's shit, and in the current meta, the only lane he could go is top, where he would get completely demolished by the new generation of super tanky tops :|
