Interesting changes. Even as a GP player I hated the deny mechanic so I'm excited to see how he'll be. The changes to his parrrley kind of frighten me though.

We talked a lot about the Xin nerfs last week, and possible buffs to him to compensate. Here's the current plan; Three Talon Strike Fixed a bug where Three Talon Strike could be activated while it was still active. General Base attack damage increased to 59.1 from 52.3 Attack damage per level decreased to 3.1 from 3.3 Battle Cry Passive Attack Speed is no longer removed while the ability is on cooldown Attack Speed increased to 20/25/30/35/40% from 15/20/25/30/35% Crescent Sweep Armor and Magic resist reduced to 25 at all levels. Now scales and gives 7/10/13 Armor and Magic Resist for each champion hit
We believe this will be a good set of changes to fix the original problems and make him generally better in most elo ranges. The change to Battle Cry will add a ton of consistency.
We expect this to go out this patch.
Might actually be fine now.

In which case, why is it different from getting Ruby Crystal + Null Magic Mantle? It's also a "cheap survivability boost", and still turns into Aegis. And it takes a LONG time (7-8 minutes) for HoG to match Aegis on EHP/gold efficiency, even for just the self-stats.
Old HoG was so ubiquitous because it's gold efficiency vastly outdid every other survivability option, big or small. By the time you've done 2 camps, it's outdoing Chain Vest/Giant's Belt on cost-effectiveness--which is why it was a superior buy compared to either of those for similar amounts of gold. Since that's no longer the case, I don't see why HoGs on tanks should be any more common than Kage's Picks on AP carries.

FIddle, a mediocre champion, was made completely useless. "We decided to buff the ap ratio on his drain" real troll by riot, 0.48 to 0.5.
Caitlyn was already a useful champion, definitely didn't deserve to be buffed in comparison to many many champions. Fiddle and Gangplank for instance(and cassiopeia).
Overall, the patch is only saved by the buff to Randuins omen. Still an awful patch.

When he E's now, does he gain the active along with the passive or does he lose the passive and only gain the active (like Xin's W before?). Really I'd prefer an extra 4 seconds on the buff than increasing the stats.
They don't tell us the new radius of his ult either and the slow is basically nonexistent.

Try "being global". Whether or not it was nerfed/buffed/overnerfed/whatever is up for debate, but being global is a large advantage over MF's E.

The change was in response to noobs QQing about critplank, most likely, which makes sense if you've seen enough of low ELO play. I've one-shot people with parrrley before. The damage change was to address this, by making parrrley less of a one-shot nuke type spell and lowering the cooldown to compensate. That, at least, I remember from the patch notes.
(I do agree that pirate is probably crap now.)

I think fiddle's drain had ratio of 0.4 and 0.48 is just a mistake. Or so say my sources. His ultimate was nerfed though, he needs 500 AP to match the original ultimate damage. Seems like kind of a nerf, I dont know? dark win having ridiculous amount of bounces seemed better... Alistar will be autoban/instapick now imoimo. Buffed after being one of the best roamers in the game? ok. Hopefully leapstrike will now always jump over walls, is kinda annoying when it doesnt. Xin Zhao might become one of the best bruisers around, Im definately buying him.
