His Equalizer uses drag targeting. You get to choose the start location (detatched from your champion) and then drag for the direction it fires in.
Here is a clarification for how his heat works:
He starts at 0 heat with a maximum of (I think) 120. So they have no cost and add X amount to heat from you when you use them. Once you're in the danger zone (at least 50% heat), spells deal bonus damage. The ideal play is usually to cast just enough spells to stay in the danger zone, but sometimes it's worth it to cast extra spells, overheat yourself, and gain bonus damage from the passive.
So his R is an AoE Skillshot that doesn't start from you. You're supposed to use your skills in a measure fashion, but when you really need burst you can go all out but then can't cast spells for a short while.
I wonder if you could cleanse his own self-inflicted silence? That would be pretty cool.
wow so his ult has drag targetting huh? Imagine if anivia/karthus/malz's wall had drag targetting... would be so ez mode lol

It´s really more that they give champs different resource systems than Mana. Mantra, rage, heat - it´s different enough to warrant uninvolved passives because managing resources already is something to keep in mind.

Red post - Xypherous: Rumble's passive is a very mild example of this anti-pattern, but only if you attempt to play Rumble strictly as a ranged harasser. The optimal play when you are doing ranged harass is to dance his heat in the danger zone.
However, Rumble is not *just* a ranged harasser.
Why? Take a look at his abilities again:
Melee range DoT. Shield/Speed Boost. Ranged Slow. Massive AoE Slow.
Rumble wants to slow you and then get into melee range to hit you with his flamethrower and his fists. Once he has used his ability cooldowns and his opponents are in melee, he wants to overheat as quickly as possible so he can proceed to pound you to death while he is in melee range while Flamethrower is ticking away. Flamethower is his primary damage ability.
If you want to do maximum spike damage as Rumble, you are timing your abilities such that by the time you overheat, the enemy champions are under the effects of your slows so that you can get massive empowered melee attacks in while flamethrower is on. His long-range abilities don't do a very high amount of damage on their own.
Because Overheating only lasts a short time and then cools him down fully afterwards, he can then use his 'W' multiple times to escape.
Happy Rumbling.
So his passive is kinda that silence and additional magic dmg from aa.
I wonder if he could get any use of items like: Guinsoo's Rageblade Malady Nashor's Tooth <-- ouch at that mp5 :/ Hextech Gunblade Rabadon's Deathcap Rylai's Crystal Scepter
I like the concept of such mage that wants to become melee for some time. With decent ap ratios on passive and flamethrower maybe he could be build into as/ap bruiser. But if he has to get loads of ap to become even a little of a threat then that melee aspect of his will make him useless.
Rylais seems lackluster when he already has lots of slows. Zhonyas Hourglass might be worth a consideration if he needs AP and defenses. Malady might be decent (assuming that he gets a flat bonus damage, ASpd should be the way to improve your autoattacks). Seems to be one of the few champs that Triforce won't work on: he usually only autoattacks while he is not able to cast spells.
So... I wouldn't be surprised to see something like Sorcs + Guise + Malady + tank, or Mercs + Malady + Void + tank. But just from the previews you can't really tell.

So how is this fair compared to all the ninjas? Just because they use resource other than mana doesn't mean they have to sacrifice passives... However i was wrong because karma actually does have a passive In other words so far the only champ that has no passive due to another resource system is renekton. And i doubt anyone thinks he needs one anyway

You actually have a point here, just wondering if it will be useful, maybe he will be another Corki - DPS champion with spells

But man, I just can't live without my -10 MR aura passives!
