slight nerf IMO, but it's all from the % damage reduction per hit. The base damage numbers remain roughly the same as they were prior to this patch.

After watching the video a few more times, I take back what I said about the knockback. I like it more now since it's a disrupt more than an actual knockback. I would've been happier with an actual knockback rather than only a disrupt because doing an arcane smash then twisted advanced combo would be so devastating, but how it is now isn't that much worse. Still an all around good ability.
Still a bit disappointed with those saplings. I can't imagine anyone ever getting more than one point in it before everything else is maxed. Maybe if someone wants to do a RoA first, they could pull off a few points in saplings and then transition into a support tank, but that's the only max-sapling-first scenario I see viable. They'll probably are going to be used early game as a bush-checker/harass spell but then late game only as a banshee's-popper. They just don't last long enough. Would've liked to see them increase the time they are active per skill-up. Like maybe start at 20 sec and end up at 1min after 5 ranks.

You are not supposed to be able to stack the sapplings. It´s BS enough when shaco does it.
They apparently have a 0.4 AP ratio on impact and 0.6 on detonation, a potentional 1:1 AP ratio on a AoE skill is dangerous. I could definetly see them being used over Q (one point for the knockback) in certain setups.

also everyone that's disappointed with sapling needs to chill out imo his other skills look great and there are tons of champs that rely primarily on two skills rather than three. and besides, maokai is gonna be great in a duo lane - you'll NEVER get ganked if you keep a sapling in the river/bush. what jungler is going to want to walk through a ward that is also a nuke into a lane with a champ with 2 forms of CC? maokai's gonna be a great babysitter. i'm really excited for some lane combos with him

They really made the E (Spell Flux) ability such trash. Its bounce and magic resist reduction were really good in conjunction with the ult before, but with its now massive cooldown you'll get it off once per ult, maybe twice per fight. I used to use it as a big source of harassment and farming too in early lane phase.
It was also supposed to be used as early in the rotation as you could manage because if you decrease MR it's better for your other spells. Now with the way the cooldowns work I'm not sure how much that would even happen. I'm a believer that abilities are broken unless you can use them for the advantage that they were made to give.
The good thing is that if he is underpowered they can always revert the changes or give him massive buffs, which I predict for the next patch. Then hopefully hardly anyone will use him still and I can still feel somewhat unique.

Cass really is exactly what they just did to Ryze. Her Q movement buff combined with Rylai's makes her IMPOSSIBLE to catch without any kind of CC.

I think now it's gonna be QRQWQE (or something of that form), basically try to fit a Q between each spell since it's CD is so low. TBH I don't even think activating R is that necessary (unless there are multiple targets) other than to reduce CDs on other spells since it doesn't increase your single target damage anymore.

Lots of CDR items got their %'s nerfed. I wonder if this is to encourage more CDR rune usage?
Did spirit visage really need another nerf? Maybe only on Vlad, but honestly the increased cost already makes it well balanced imho. I'm wicked bummed about the glacial shroud nerf... I love that item on so many casters T_T;
And is it just me, or is Vlad still going to be just as annoying to lane against? He might not be able to dive you at lvl 5 as easily, but he can still just sit back and QQQQQQ constantly and out-last you for free.

yeah rhavanna you've got it spot on
the CDR nerfs are dumb, i get that they're encouraging supports to build more AP, but some supports just NEED that cdr (janna, galio imo). don't take that away from us :C the randuin cdr nerf is hilarious though
and they still haven't fixed what made vlad annoying. i don't see why riot even bothers talking at all. they should just make their fixes secretly. it's dumb to see them say "we're making ryze a faster spell caster" and then they don't... and then they say "we're making vlad less annoying" and then they don't... and then they say "we're gonna make rammus less powerful" and they change all the things that don't fix anything

Is it just me or is Morello's Evil Tome a pretty apt representation of what he's been trying to institute at Riot? A generic, boring item that really adds nothing to the game and is about the same as everything else.
Also am boggled at the Vlad changes. I was expecting Q to get a CD increase when they said they were nerfing Vlad, or pool to take AoE damage, or something. Losing the small speed increase and turret aggro changes isn't going to affect Vlad.
Also if they're going to have 5 CDR on Randuin's just take CDR off the item and give it 10 armor back. What's the point?

I thought this patch was about making Vlad not snowball so hard with the offense=defense scaling. Riot seems to really take their time with any actual reworks; Eve evolved into an overall stealth rework, and nothing new from the Alistar thing yet. Don't know how long the Ryze thing has been worked on, but I expect it to be a while.

No one actually cared about the HP > AP scaling because it was already so bad anyways. You still build AP to get HP. But the problem is that Riot's avoiding the real problem, Vlad's Q, by nerfing everything else, so when they finally get to it it will break him completely.

Huzzah. downtime extended another 2 hours T_T. Riot always usually take this long to update? about 12 hours seems a little to long for patch and stuff o.oa

It didn't do much for Twitch aside from making it pretty much impossible to lvl 1 gank, but that was just a gimmick and nothing the character relies on. Eve also got the stealth duration nerf, but that change didn't do all that much for her aside from, again, lvl 1 ganks. They nerfed her base stats and especially her mana costs so much that she just cannot jungle and gank decently anymore. The stealth change is just a minor scratch compared to that.

They do server mantain and patch in the same rune... its usually 14 hours but it seems they wanted to made it shorter (servers usually down till 2, and they say 12 this time) but as we can see they fail....
