Splitting the players searching for a game in 3 categories (without counting 3v3 and arranged 5s) will increase queues times, witch is not a good thing. Besides, normal is for fun and trying new heros, why would you even want draft in that? I wouldn't mind a preview of their team before starting tho, going against mundo and team has no exaust is never a good thing

Dota has a pool of heroes that aren't in the main -cm mode, made up of new heroes and heroes that have recently had large changes to them. The main problem with balancing LoL imo is the constant release of content (sick of new champions for a while -_-) and the fact Riot's balance changes are pretty dumb when you considering what the top level/competitive scene really needs. 1-2 more bans each would be nice though, 4 in total is definitely too little (probably why ever tourny has more).

Who the hell gets to arbitrate champs as "ranked-playable" and what criteria could you use that would be remotely fair? Well, I mean there are only about 35-40 champs who get any significant play at top tier matches anyway. I could totally see a 40 champ pool with the ability to vote in 1 champ per team from outside that pool per game.

Yeah it's not a team game but from my point of view the more competitively accessible a game is the better. edit: Also guys what do you do against gangplank duo bot (or heck, gangplank in general?). I can never be aggressive enough to really punish him because of deny, and then the inevitable jungle gank comes and just owns me and my laning partner...

Not stupidly push as in overextending, but enough to hold up your tower from minion rape. I do this especially against GP solo top. In bot, if his jungle is ganking your lane and destroying your team, you need to tell your jungle to do something to counteract that. Also, what lane setup do you usually have against a GP duo? I honestly can't think of many insanely strong lane combos with GP other than something like Janna/Zil/Shen who are pretty much strong in any lane combo. Try running some more offensive lanes with some combo of like Sion, Taric, Cho, Alistar, Blitz, Xin, or etc.

I can't remember what exactly my lane was last time, maybe it was something like renekton/blind monk, but every time there's an enemy GP I always feel like I'm caught with my pants down (like when you're on a team with no stuns and then see Kat on the other side). It was pretty much impossible to not overextend unless I wanted to either let them free farm or deny myself more experience. A lot of the problem is just denyplank in normals but it's helpful to know how to deal with him for ranked too though I don't see him much there. In duo lane sometimes we do get the turret down, but if we've already fed the jungler then things tend to only get worse from there.

let me tell you something, LOL may have issues at the top level of play but for most of us there's small problems at most. but you dont have to be very good for sc2 to make you hate your life; you just have to play zerg and be higher than gold. riot moves quickly and I see them as liking to experiment with changes. now it's true they could do what dota did and have a stable version and a test version that everyone could play on, and maybe that would be a good thing to have. but honestly Id rather have a dev team that has the balls to say "we think the game isnt playing out the way we want so here are some changes, test them out for us" than "zerg is fine, ignore the man behind the curtain".

Balance seems to be a big problem, but in theory, seeing how there are about 70 champions to pick from, you should be able to balance the game assuming that we do not have a very very small number of champs that completely rape without exception. But in game, most of the QQ about balance comes from arrogant assholes who always complain about their team that start performing poorly and when they are not blaming the jungler, they blame the game or a "glitch" that is often fictional.

You seem to have completely missed the point that the two companies approach balance from a different perspective and that this may reflect on the state of their respective games and their future. There are pros and cons to both methods. Blizzard waits for so much internal testing before releasing even minor attribute changes that the player base feels abandoned and powerless. Riot seems to make changes to entire classes of champions and/or types of items without sufficient forethought. Compounding the issue are basic mechanic changes like Dragon rewards and Minion/Tower strength.

Next game we have a pair of korean duo q, and since the first of whom cant speak english, we end up with a team consisting of a last pick mf with smite. She proceeds to feed all game, speak with shen in Korean, and we get split pushed to a loss. Literally the 2 most frustrating ways to lose, because there is literally nothing you can do to stop either one. Split pushing is so fucking broken right now it isnt even funny. and, of course, leavers suck.
