Yeah, minions are retardedly OP. When you have 2-3 inhibs down even when the enemy has baron they can only really defend because if they go out for even 20 seconds their base will be pushed and they will auto lose the game. Completely different to where you could push and then back, kill creepwaves, and then go push again even if you were behind. Even just with 1 inhib down that threat exists for your nexus turrets and you can lose them and the game if you leave. It never was as bad before, but with minions taking quite a few tower hits each endgame, it becomes a lot more detrimental since towers can't even defend themselves.

Yea wtf is going on with the servers!?!?

It raced through the queue from 1k to 1 in like 1m. What a load of BS.

shouldn't be too hard, most solo queue players would probably check both anyway since it doesn't matter that much to them. The argument for draft mode in normals is so you can actually get your feet wet before jumping into ranked - it's kind of funny how the 'competitive' and 'non-competitive' modes in a game are completely different.

You're not actually number 1k in the queue the drop in numbers is always the same, Riot just wants you to believe that more players are playing than there actually is. That or its some kind of strange in joke.

I'm grinding my way up the ladder. At around what ELO and level do warding, proper jungling, setting up lanes, and otherwise proper play become important? Right now I'm just running around stealing all the farm with revive port support heroes to buy hundreds of AP and it's working.
But why?

servers unavailable but you can still konami code past that and then there's no queue

i thought they added the queue to stop konami code abuse when the servers are taking a dump like this

At every Elo. At lower Elo it's even more important because it will give you 50000 games winning streak :S

Ya. Elo level shouldn't matter with warding, as it gives an even bigger advantage if the enemy team isn't doing it.

They want to reduce average game length and reduce snowballing at the same time. I guess the only way they could do this was through modifying minions/towers. With the way they have it set up now games are almost always even enough in pubs that you can make a comeback right up until the point where you lose some of your base. This is fair enough when you think about it, but it just feels weird in game because your team might still be strong enough that a good initiation or something like that could easily result in an ace for your team but you are basically stuck in your base while the other team gets 2x jungle/barons/dragons until they win.

The one downside it seems like they didn't anticipate was split pushers that are super hard to stop in pubs can single handedly win games just by pushing the base while you fight over other objectives, and of course if they actually destroy enough towers or waste enough of your time what seemed like an even game now becomes very hard for the team who got split pushed to win. It just means pub games now often revolve around trying to shut down a teemo/nidalee/singed from pushing your base rather than team fighting etc...

Personally I would find it more fun if to reduce the game time they left minions/towers as they were and made it a bit easier to snowball from actually killing the other team. It's kind of irritating that to actually "carry" in pubs you have to go around ganking no matter what lane you're in, but in reality if not for the fact you are better than your opposition the dominate strategy is clearly to sit in lane and farm since the reward for killing people in reality is just not that high, especially when the other team can just end your spree for a huge bounty come teamfights.

I would argue that ganking is already pretty damn effective with jungle + roamer + flash. At least if you are not one of those ungankable champs with 10 escape abilities.

I doubt they do that. Not making players loose gold on death was a choice they probably made right of the start so dying is not as frustrating as in Dot or HoN:

Hmm, well this normal draft pick looks like a cool idea, but i would need to get more than 1 champion before I can really dive into it. The fact that the only character I have bought is also currently free doesn't help.
Survival is winning, everything else is bullshit.

Sadly, the 0/6 kennen and 0/4 lee sin (both top lane) stopped me from enjoying the full game (surrender at 30min)
Edit: I was 8/3 too, just couldn't carry them :/
