BR is for people who want to buy one big damage item, and not need anything else. It's great damage on it's own (the mix of AD, AS, and proc is redic for the cost), and scales with thier hp, so it never really falls off. lots of options building off of BR since it's so self contained.

I stopped playing champs that really want IE because that locks you into being countered hard too much of the time. lolololol thornmail. also, it's much easier to buy armor than MR.

It works for Evelynn as well because it increases her spam dmg and she has insane aspd so she can make use of the passives better than most.

Also does anyone think dodge is a thing that should be on more items? Right now it's just... ninja tabi I believe.

I don't see what the problem is with having hard-to-itemize stats. Crit damage is only one one item, one mastery, and runes.

Didn't want to make a thread but I am desperate to play some 5s with good players. My friends are all lower level or skilled and although we have a good time, I would like to try some ranked 5s or even just some more competitive normals.

I'm a perennial mid 1600 player, reason I am looking to play some 5s at the moment is I had another typical solo q loss streak to 1602 today. I'm just so burnt out with solo q, and am really trying to figure out if it is the game or the game mode that I just can't stand.

Anyways. I don't really care what your rating is or w/e. I pretty much don't think it means shit. However I ask that you be decent and honest about your skill level, and I would prefer to play with people who have at least 1500+ in some of the ladders.

Dodge, and in general all stats that are based on a "random" chance, are terrible for a competitive game. Instead of allowing for precise calculation, which requires skill, one can get horribly sucked out because your opponent just had a lucky string of dodges/crits.

How should jax's counterstrike be modified to account for dodge removal? I am not terribly fond of dodge myself. Ninja Tabi just gone from the game altogether? Nimbleness - removed, modified? Sivir's passive?

Replace dodge with a flat 'autoattack damage reduction' on most things - Sivir, Nidalee, Udyr and Jax's passives are good candidates for this. Either remove Nimbleness alltogether or replace Evasion with Harden Skin and give a similar 1 point physical reduction mastery.

Counterstrike - Up CD to somewhere between 10 and 16 seconds, think like Pulverize or Rupture.

Ninja Tabi - Either increase armor or increase cost and make them Merc Treads with armor.

I think that's everything left with dodge?

There's nothing wrong with a little "random" as long as it's not too excessive or game breaking. Random from a spectator point of view can be much more noticeable and brings excitement/tension. Why are reavers so awesome to watch? Why was Iron Curtain such a great 2v2 map? A little random goes a long way.

I just checked IE + LW + PD and IE + LW + Starks (PD is better whodathunkit) vs BR+SotD+wits+Malady and BR+SotD+Malady. Both of the latter builds have more efficient auto attacks against a target with 100 mr, 100 armor and 2000 HP, the item builds cost around 9k gold. If the target has much less HP I have no doubt that then AD will probably pull ahead, but who has that amount of HP at level 18? However, AD still has a lot more item slots available so super super late game I don't doubt that AD would be a better pick for DPS. I quickly looked at potting and it does help AD but still doesn't bring it in line with the every-bloody-magic-attack-speed-item-in-the-game build. You can get attack speed buffs from teammates sometimes which is a consideration, would probably help an AD build more since the AS build would have to drop an item and then build something like void staff.

AD just doesn't play to a single one of Kog's strengths except that you'll have an easier time downing turrets and inhibitors. That's pretty much it. AD items scale better on every other physical carry in the game, pretty much.

In any case though, 9k gold is just way, way too late to start making a difference in a game. The attack speed build is just ridiculously efficient the whole way through and as a result kicks in hard and fast for the whole game. I was once told that after you finish your first big item on an AD carry you're at your most powerful relative to other players and should be carrying the hardest. Well, IE alone on Kog sucks too hard. Why not finish Malady + SotD instead so you're carrying is on schedule rather than after your nexus turrets are down?
