Instant unrelenting punishment from the matchmaker is the result, I get grouped with a 3 man group of Abathur + Cho'Gall and the last one is the mandatory Greymane. Enemy team is Muradin, Raynor, Kael'Thas, Morales and the mandatory Greymane. Abathur threw out a 'yolo' in the chat at start. Abathur even went Monstrosity. Abathur was a loudmouth as well when it was mentioned that Abathur + Cho'Gall isn't a good idea and has zero lane presence. Ended up getting more team XP than either Abathur or Cho'Gall. The game ended very very quickly. Sigh. | ||

This game must have been terrible. Fortunately they had Greymane, but unfortunately they didn't have such a newbie on their team. I'm getting tired of the curent meta. KT and Tyrande are absolutely in every game. Yesterday I played 3 games, the day before 3 games too. Won all 6 but didn't saw anything new: - 6 Tyrande (5 vs us 1 with) - 4 KT - 4 Raynor - 5 Thrall (me) - 6 Diablo (my friend) - 5 Jaina (most with us as all the KT are vs us, dunno why) Tired of seing Tyrande all the time, tired of KT. I love playing Thrall & Diablo but I wish I could play my other best heroes: Brightwing, Murky, ETC, Leoric, Abathur or Illidan without being a liability to the team. I'm tired of playing Raynor / KT / Tyrande to help the team. I can still play Nova 20% of the time fortunately, but the meta's getting old. | ||

Blizzard games usually are like this. They kinda lack that, idk. Feels like they just want their game to "hold ground" at first, but they dont really try to think about deeper stuff than that. The easy road they walk always nowadays. | ||

It's not about individual skills, got my ass kicked by Gazlowe + Lunara the other day. But most of the time the team with the most meta heroes will win (as said in the draft thread, with a link to Chu's post on reddit): https://www.reddit.com/r/heroesofthestorm/comments/404mev/chu8_here_this_is_my_concern/ "Simple steps to win every single game of Hero League : - pick Tyrande - pick 3 from Diablo, Kt, Raynor, Muradin, Zagara - pick one Nova, Thrall, Tassadar, Sonya" I'd add Jaina to the list at 2,5k MMR and maybe remove Tassadar. But it's clearly what's happening. Before the last balance patch, you always had 2 or 3 meta heroes, but now it looks like a "must-play-to-win-short-list". I've tested it since a few days and it's true. I never played Thrall in HL before a few days ago (10 days maybe?), started winning outright and have a solid winrate (66% in HL, 20 games). | ||

Anub'arak, ETC, Lost Vikings, Tyrael, Falstad, Tassadar, Raynor, Johanna, Tyrande, Kharazim, Li Li, Malfurion, Sonya, Uther, Jaina, Leoric, Muradin, Nazeebo, Valla, Kael'thas and Sylvanas. I'm 100% with Anub and ETC, but only a handful of games. Out of more than a dozen games, my highest win rates are Valla, Kharazim and Li Li... Uther is one of my lowest win rates in HL (25%), despite him being one of my highest in QM (60%). I still think it is simply luck of the draw in getting a better team. Better players can make a worse composition work. The 'meta' composition doesn't mean shit if you have players who constantly make mistakes against ones who don't. That said, I agree that the meta is stale and more should be done to promote hero diversity. Best solution? Add more heroes! I'm eager to see what the next 8 are... | ||

I'm just reporting what I'm experiencing at rank 5 - 10ish. And it seems worse than that at higher level, just go to HotsLogs, filter master and by popularity: Tyrande and KT at 100%, in every fucking game, then Mura Raynor 75%ish, Thrall Zagara Diablo all 50%ish. And their winrate is good. The "better player" argument should not work as the matchmaking system shouldn't allow that. Well, maybe. Or sometimes. ^^ The good thing is Greymane looks like he could be a viable hero. At diamond level it's KT, Tyrande 95%, Raynor 85%, Mura 70%ish, Diablo 60%ish and Zag 50%ish (so Thrall fell lower). All with good winrates. Not saying people shouldn't play other heroes, on the contrary I love it, but if I get a very balanced team comprised of non-meta heroes vs Diablo Tyrande Raynor KT Thrall I think I'll start with a handicap (and it'll be the case). I never cared about meta, like KT meta when he was released, or Leoric, or Butcher/Abathur... but now the meta is in my face. I played 9 games with or vs Tyrande in the last 3 days, almost all of them had KT and Raynor. And I contribute to his as I love Thrall and I played him 7 times. 9 Diablos (my friend). I'd just enjoy it more if Tyrande Raynor KT Mura and Diablo got less play. They all need some urgent nerf. And KT needs to get is tiny blonde ass kicked very hard. He's everywhere since he was released, it has to stop. Ghostcom > I've won the 2 games I recently play with him on my team, maybe it's just that I hate him be it with or vs me. Not rank 1 either so my opinion is to take with a huge grain of salt. | ||

On top i really like playing with him: He is like "Nova" only just way better, with GP and Pyroblast you can kill someone before a TF started, Chainbombs do the rest. Still, playing HL is pretty stale. I stopped completely for now, maybe till the next patch/ meta change, maybe longer. My QM MMR is way higher now and matches are always fun, even if there are some autolosses | ||

But the attitude of "we don't have these heroes, we're going to lose" or "we have these heroes, we're going to win" - that's a dangerous attitude, and one I don't think is justified. It doesn't matter that you pick a hero as versatile and strong as Tyrande, if you suck with her, you won't win. If you pick KT and don't go chain bomb, you're probably damaging your chances of winning. My last HL loss, Dragon Shire - Tyrande (me), Zagara (my friend), Raynor, Muradin, Kael'thas vs Nazeebo, Morales, Johanna, Thrall and Falstad. My last HL win, Blackheart's Bay - Falstad (me), Sgt Hammer (my friend), Muradin, Tassadar, Tyrande vs Diablo, Raynor, Malfurion, Kael'thas, Nova. Arguably we should have won the game with the 'better' comp and lost the one with the 'worse' comp. It's a dangerous attitude to think that the game is lost or that you're playing with a handicap just from the draft. Hotslogs stats aside, if your team is confident with its heroes and spirits are up (not 'we didn't get KT bg report') it will greatly improve your chances imo. | ||

To many idiots around, and is it their fault? Well to go deep on this one, no its not. Its how the cultures are being lived. But they still have responsibility for their negative shit attitude. 2assassins were picked, so this guy picks a 3rd assassin then blames the tank for picking e.t.c whenver i become bothered by the idiociity i always lose focus. Time to chill and go back to my form, not care about shit things beeing said | ||

We got completely trashed that game because the enemy was level 10 when we just hit level 8 and people still kept dying all the time because they were way overextended or engaged understrength far away from the forts... | ||
