I would like to see some players get more into SoloQ tier lists that actually apply to the vast majority of players. I honestly feel like solo queue tier list is a much better use of the concept of a tier list. The fact that the tier lists are meant for 5v5 competitive play just makes them even more perplexing imo

Ok, i would like to watch some VODs to support this since i love Jaina but it's impossible to make her work on SoloQ. No vods will support this. Jaina is one of the worse hero in the game and I have absolutely no clue how she could be considered better than hammer valla and nazeebo (who are all tier1/tier2 heroes not tier3 wtf). It's not like she has a magic build that makes her viable (like azmodan's azmoDUNK build), she's squishy she has no escape she has long cooldowns why on earth would you pick her ?

That said, I think that some of the changes to both lists reflect just how poorly some of the heroes have been understood by the professional brain trust. I liked the few days where everyone was banning Azmodan because they had no idea how to counter his new build because everyone considered him garbage tier. That's probably why iDream threw him up first, even though that's waaaay too high imo.

Good Azmodans have always been real terrors to deal with.

If you solo queue you see much more variety and when you meet THAT great diablo/gazlowe/sonya/abathur you realize calling it "tier 5" is just completely stupid. I've said it 10 times already in this thread but the game is very far from being fully figured out even if there aren't that much heroes. If these guys had more esport experience they would understand. The 5v5 competitive tier lists are more like a reflection of the competitive NA meta at the time of update which is pretty accurate. It's not meant to be a "x champ is god tier / x champ is trash tier for the rest of the game" otherwise there would literally be no point in them updating the lists. Dunno why everyone is treating iDream like an idiot..

I think a large part of the issue is that most players still don't have even a majority of the cast, and as a result hero results at the top of ladder can be skewed, and unowned heroes can't be experimented yet. For now I'll continue to play whatever I want, minus a few troll heroes that I feel are just useless (Murky I'm looking at you)

They are a nice way to phrase someone's opinion of all the heroes, but thats it. They don't reflect 100% of reality nor are they always 100% correct. It's just someone's opinion and one should never blindly copy someones opinion. It kinda saddens me that people follow these lists so much, but it seems to be better in EU - I see all heroes played all the time. And people pick things in Hero league based off of enemy's team composition and synergy within your own team. They even pick things they initially didn't want to pick and then have a blast in the game when they realize it was the right choice. First time I played Tyrande was when enemy team picked Murky and I was like "I never really played Tyrande before(had her on 5 but thats it)", team quickly told me how to play and I dominated that Murky and had a blast.

I do agree with you to a degree, but that doesn't mean there aren't heroes that are not just better than others. It's a simple fact that things aren't ever going to be perfectly balanced. A tier list just means "these heroes are better picks a higher percentage of the time." Top tiers can still have counter strats. Dota is a perfect example of this, there are plenty of heroes that are picked/banned all the time and still only hold a 50% win.

One thing to keep in mind when viewing those is who posts it. iDream is on C9 Maelstorm and teammates with K1Pro. K1Pro up until a couple weeks ago literally only played Jaina and is REALLY good on it. So to C9M Jaina is a stronger pick than maybe for other teams. Even on one of my teams (ESV Tempest) we have one of the best Tyrande's in NA, and we will even FP it if needed. For most teams she's T2 at best and more likely T3. However for Tempest she is for 100% sure a T1 Hero. Context is important.

No, it's absolutely not worth buying it, there are TONS of beta keys around, constant giveaways on almost every gaming related site, it's really easy to get a hold of a key for free if you try. Keep in mind that it's a free-to-play game with a relatively greedy pay model and you'll have to spend more money to play comfortably.
