Earthgrasp Totem (Talent)
No longer roots the target for 1 second, and instead applies a 90% slow for 1 second

Can't recall seeing a single complaint about the strength of that talent.

Can't recall seeing a single complaint about the strength of that talent. They said in the blog post they've been moving a bunch of these talented roots to very severe slows instead to make the experience a bit more fluid for people who are unsure why they've lost control of their hero.

Less dmg, no more root, Chug gone (or not even a slow)... And why did they nerf him that hard?

Maybe chen will make a comeback but I doubt it since he lost the most op thing he had : the spammable 1sec root at lvl 7. Time to play some motherfucking rockstar ETC ! I didn't see the Muradin nerf, or are you talking about him losing rewind? Chen seems better now, except they nerfed his ult again for some reason. Well, he's free this week so I'll be playing him at least. Raynor looks different, but at least his ults seem massively buffed. At a glance I guess Hyperion is good for sieging right away and you can talent it later to destroy everything in a teamfight. Will have to try it out. Losing rewind at lvl 13 is pretty huge, muradin relies on the double stun and the jump in jump out that rewind gives to be viable. On top of that you will have to give up the upgraded avatar if you want to get rewind and that will only come at lvl 20. Just started getting really serious with Muradin for Hero League and the few times I took rewind I just drained my mana instantly. He definitely takes some discipline to strike the right balance so I guess I overlooked how strong rewind could be in my learning. Also, I might be doing it wrong, but Muradin seems to have trouble really outputting damage, so I guess rewind was also a way to cover that weakness. Ya, seems like they either overlooked this one are don't mind it still working. IIRC there *were* some roots you could escape from and some you couldn't. So maybe it makes things more consistent?

And why did they nerf him that hard? I've been playing around with Chen and having a lot of fun. I'm sad I can't build an aggressive Chen anymore, but he seems like a powerful damage taker now, more so than he has since I've played him. If you spec him for regen, he hits 62 hp/second at level 16. I think Chen is going to turn into a huge tank. His damage sucks, but (holding out for further testing) I'm hoping his regen/shield changes will make him a powerful tank choice. At level 20, you get Hardened Shield, which is a 4 second shield you can trigger on yourself. 73 hp/second at level 20 if you spec for it. Fortified Brew. Still has Storm, Earth and Fire. And all of that isn't factoring in extra charges from regen master. I'm still hopeful this new playstyle will yield positive results. I always thought tanking was one of the most fun aspects of Chen and I'm happy to see it improved. EDIT: In the actual game, by lvl 20, you can count on having 100 hp/sec regen. EDIT 2: This is almost more fun than the old Chen! Live Long, Regen Chen!

In the current meta you pretty much want to unload your mana ASAPly in team fights, win, then B back for mana. So Muradin leaping in, Avatar, Clap, Stun, RW, Clap, Stun, Leap was a metric fuckton of CC/slow even if it did basically take all his mana to do it. From there he starts auto attacking shit for even MORE stuns. I still think he'll be a decent hero (not a drop-off like Anub losing Rewind level) but he certainly got hurt by it.

I don't know if certain heroes have larger hitboxes than others but it seems like a nightmare running from Chen with the asshole constantly getting behind me and having to walk around his fat ass.

I don't know if certain heroes have larger hitboxes than others but it seems like a nightmare running from Chen with the asshole constantly getting behind me and having to walk around his fat ass. I played a few more games with this in mind and it helped tremendously. Espeically without the root on his kick and leaving it untalented, the fact that it passes through the enemy and you can block them got me more than a couple kills. Here's another thing I noticed -- Chen is still a good chaser. What happens is, you close distance with the kick and drop keg+breath... and then just chase them. You get 20% increased movement speed so it's easy to close, and with 40 mana, you still have enough to pop a few kicks. You lose your regen for that time so you're more vulnerable, but I kind of like that because it adds an element of skill to it. If Chen is fast, Chen's regen is not 100... more like 30-40. If anyone else wants to give Regen Chen a spin, here is the build I've been using. I want to try and write up some more thoughts after I put in some more games but here it is: 1 - Regen Master 4 - Amplified Healing 7 - Brewmaster's Balance 10 - Storm, Earth and Fire 13 - Relentless (most open to debate/playstyle imo) 16 - Bolder Flavor 20 - Hardened Shield
