It's comp and map dependent tbh. I agree Storm Shield is generally better but on maps where you fight in tighter spaces like haunted mines, cursed hollows, and some parts of dragon shire, triple wind is incredible. It's essentially a super long stun as it pins people caught in it against terrain.

That's intended. Blizzard tests how to stop people from leaving. If you are in a party the other party members get the same penalty. Tabbing out seems to disconnect some people during the picking phase.

I understand the crowd control makes up for that in group fights but he feels so much more squishy without it. I almost never go emerald unless I have a nazeebo or hammer on my team. Even with hammer sometimes I'll take blink heal. It depends on both team's comps and whether or not you have a comp that needs to peel for a target to be effective. It's essentially a super long stun as it pins people caught in it against terrain. Blink, storm shield and triple emerald are all viable options when taking emerald wind. Blink is the least common one but makes you a lot safer and lets you blink emerald aggressively. Storm shield with emerald makes the least sense to me because it literally lasts three seconds which you'd probably use as people go in - same time you're going to emerald anyway. Works well with blink heal though. Triple emerald is a lot of zoning but unless they have like triple melee and are forced to try and dive a target it's a little redundant unless they really need to dive (i.e.: nazeebo). More than likely people will back off after the first emerald. It's good to be flexible and just pick whichever fits the situation.

Tassadar looks nice, and as a zerg player I really wanna play Abathur. Good picks? Solid and cheap: Valla, Tychus, Tassadar. Solid overall: Arthas, Stitches, Uther (7k gold). As a Zerg player you should try Zagara ![]()

Thanks for the hint, will try those out! What about Abathur though? Is he just too expensive for a starter or just not that good?

Healers: Brightwing, Uther, Lili, Malfurion Hybrids: Tassadar Tanks: Stitches, Muradin, Arthas Ranged Assassin: Tychus, Valla, Falstad Melee Assassin: Thrall, Zeratul, Illidan Specialists: Sgt. Hammer, Nazeebo I'm still not sure if I want to specialize (for example to get all decent supporters/healers) or to build a broader set of heroes (best of each category). For example I hate playing tanks but in hero league chances are I'm last, need to pick a tank, and as Muradin is taken I need to play ETC. Probably depends if I want to solo queue or mainly use premades.

If you're proficient and skilled with your favorite champ you will be contributing to the team no problem. The exception to this is Diablo who was torture to level to 5 for me and it popular opinion he's garbage. In regards to Abathur, I would wait until he's in the free rotation before dropping 10k on him, just as I'd recommend for any hero. Abathur has a very unique playstyle so I strongly recommend you test him out before buying.

Is he just too expensive for a starter or just not that good? I would say he's pretty complex for a new player who doesn't know all the heroes and maps, and he has to be the most knowledge-dependent hero out there. Also since the latest patch he's not super great, and inexperienced hands can be a disaster of a pick. I would hold off and see if he gets buffed or at least wait till you play on a few teams with him to see how he works and how people play him.

Most importantly, Zagara has creep tumors. ![]() I think people are still experimenting with Abathur after the recent changes so I don't know for sure (like, someone on Grubby's stream was playing Abathur-Illidan with a high winrate), but it seems like he has been overnerfed. He's still fun to play I guess, but for that price you can have 2 top tier heroes.

He at least can bring bloodlust on the table while Lili and Malfurion just feel like bad versions of Brightwing to me. Uther obviously is in a manly class of his own.

But I like the design approach to explore more options for stuff that does not add to deathball vs deathball team fights. The current iteration is obviously too weak but the idea is decent (stacking up something that forces the enemy team to react or lose).
