a good friend of mine who was diagnosed with ADD (takes adderall) also got a club card (legit) because he told his doc the adderall was stopping him from his normal eating habits and unable to sleep. Cure? i think we all know.

That's the kind of idiocy your doctor is probably looking out for. A lot of people abuse weed + adderall for the high, which is stupid cause adderall is an addictive drug even if weed isn't. Depending on your relationship with your doctor, he'll probably just try and get you to stop smoking.

what does it mean to "abuse" something for the high
what is the difference between "abusing" and simply "using"?

I mean taking it specifically to get high instead of using it for its purpose and then getting high. I think abuse usually means oding, which is dangerous cause it's in the same class of addictive drugs like oxycontin, etc.
"This is a list of Schedule II drugs under the Controlled Substances Act for the United States. Required findings for drugs to be placed in this schedule: [1]
1. The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse. 2. The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States or a currently accepted medical use with severe restrictions. 3. Abuse of the drug or other substances may lead to severe psychological or physical dependence."

if you're not prescribed to it, no matter what it is, and you use it you're abusing it.
for example, i abuse xanax.

xanax is sweet. Smoked a blunt and took one last night, put me in lala land.
To op: I wouldn't sweat it. Worst that happens is that he won't give you the perscription and you have to go elsewhere.

I'm glad entropy posted here. I learned a lot :D

Meh, I don't find myself onside with those definitions. I smoke weed from time to time - certainly don't abuse it. I drink from time to time - certainly don't abuse it.
Everything's good in moderation?

Some people take addys to get fucked up too.... i really cant imagine why. ive taken it several times for tests/papers and it's not something id imagine being fun. It feels like youre tweakin for coke no fun there =[

yeah for a while there xanax was turning into my favorite drug. the only problem is that shit kills your memory. there are nights that all i'd use was weed and xanax and the next day i wouldn't remember anything. and to top it off xanax always gives you the urge to do wild stupid shit like break the windows of a burger king.

hey i smoke weed daily and i don't think i abuse it.
i agree about moderation, but i'm speaking from a legal stand point.

Hey guys learn to read: as long as you're not prescribed to it you're abusing it. Marijuana is considered drug abuse (except in Holland), no matter how much you smoke it. (Alcohol is different because it can't be prescribed while weed can. It falls more into the category of smoking.)
Drug abuse doesn't mean you're an dangerous addict or something though, relax. From a legal standpoint you're fucked if you get caught by the cops or something but otherwise it's fine obviously.
Oh and travis you won't get anymore drugs from your doc obviously, but at least he's not allowed to tell the cops about it.

Even with smoking and bars? I just thought it kills your memory if you drink and do it. Ive had a couple of those nights =p
