Ok so right now I live in Reno, NV.

My doctor, who prescribes me adderall, had me take a drug(pee) test, before he will write me a 3-month prescription of adderall.

I am totally going to fail the drug test, but I took it anyways just so he would write me this month's prescription.

I figure that when the test shows positive for smoking weed, there isn't going to be anything the doctor can do by then, I'll already have my prescription.

anyways, are there any flaws with this plan.

also, has anyone else's doctor ever done this?

what business of it is his? can he even make you take a piss test before writing a prescription for a medication you are in need of and already using?

but he is the doctor I assumed if I said I wouldn't do it he would just tell me to go somewhere else

i didnt have to ask him, the reason he gave was something along the lines of

"adderal is a controlled substance, we don't want people taking adderal if they are also using other drugs" or whatever

which doesnt make any sense but I wasn't going to argue with him

Maybe he thinks you're selling it. If it's in your system, he will be wrong. Don't think there's really anything he could do otherwise.

I work in a pharmacy.. just recently, we had an instance where the pharmacist called the doctor after some weirdo only bought vicodin without getting the amox(which happens all the time, dunno why he called on this one), and the doctor even said, don't let her have the vicodin without the amox..but there wasn't anything we could do. Even while she was standing there. She ended up buying the amox though, because the doctor said he wanted her to take it.

well whats funny is that ive been out of adderal for a week
i dunno how long it stays in the system but if its less than a week i will show positive for weed but not for adderal

When you're on a prescribed drug that alters chemicals in your brain, like anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, mood stabilizers, ADD drugs, etc, you shouldn't be taking any other mind altering drugs. That's all there is to it. If you think your problem was serious enough that you need to be prescribed medication for it, then follow the doctor's advice.

He's not a cop and you aren't going to get in any criminal trouble for the results.

Well adderall XR only lasts 12 hours, that leaves me with 5~6 hours during a day to kill, many of which I smoke weed.

Well I mean I do smoke weed while on adderal but honestly I've seen 0 evidence it's harmful over the years, and that's beside the point.

I don't understand why the doctor would drug test, weed is illegal for everyone not just people who take adderal.

worst case scenario: he calls you out on the weed and tells you to stop smoking while taking the adderall.

I'm pretty sure there's an unspoken confidentiality agreement between doc and patient. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine, well as long as the weed/adderal combo isn't deadly or anything.
