In case You are not, here is his Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Fukuyama#The_End_of_History_and_the_Last_Man In 1992 he published a book in which he claimed that we are approaching an "End of History" meaning that soon liberal democracy will triumph all over the World and not much will every happen again: the ages of war, revolutions, struggle and major shifts in global order are coming to an end. Obviously, it turned out to be a bunch of bollocks, but he became known all over the World.

Unfortunately most NATO vessels have stopped broadcasting their AIS, you can't see them on shipping radar sites anymore. German navy and coastguard vessels have disappeared, but they are there. But not everybody stopped, you can see the Danes are investigating the southern leak and the Swedes the northern one since yesterday. Why investigate? They knew the answer the moment it happened. The Biden story with him saying Nordstream wouldn’t be allowed was all over the usual places minutes after the leak.

A member of the State Duma Committee on Defense, Lieutenant General Andrei Gurulev, said that 1.5 million sets of military uniforms for the mobilized were missing from the points of reception of personnel. This is reported by the Telegram channel "Rise" . As the deputy said, at the moment the Russian military has problems “with uniforms, then with something else.” “It is still unclear to me where the 1.5 million sets that were stored at the points of reception of personnel have gone,” Gurulev said. He noted that no one and nowhere can explain this problem. According to a member of the State Duma Committee on Defense, the question of the loss of a military uniform should be asked to the dismissed Deputy Minister of Defense Dmitry Bulgakov . “[Bulgakov] should not be sent to another job, but one should specifically ask where, where and why it happened that our mobilized do not receive uniforms,” Gurulev said. Dmitry Bulgakov served as Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation from December 2, 2008 to September 24, 2022. He oversaw the logistics of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev took his place . Earlier, Izvestia wrote that prices for a number of goods for mobilized and volunteers increased by 10-20%. According to Kommersant , the flow of visitors to military stores has also grown significantly - in some cases, stores with military equipment report a 40% increase in traffic. Source

This seems pretty big and is a good reason why (I forgot who) was saying all the stuff about the pipeline might be all internally driven. So long as the dictator can keep the citizens under their spell, the work can continue. Focus on short term, make it to the next month. But now that isn't working. Need to fire up the country with stuff like the "US blowing up the pipeline". Also, this is really interesting too because it highlights the same thing. Its all about messaging. The results don't matter for now. Just make sure there isn't widescale revolt. But I think its coming sooner than most of us have expected. After Ukraine takes a bunch of land, Lavrov is saying "We are doing really well and we are about to take over more land"??? ??? ?????????????

If they want messaging like that to keep going they will need to implement more state censorship. Right now they are only doing it a lot instead of fully making a Russian Internet without connections to the outside.

A few weeks ago if Putin got thrown under the bus as the sole person responsible for the whole mess, the West would have been more than happy to work with that white lie if it meant a Russian retreat and and slowly resuming trade. But now on top of a retreat, his would be successors would have to put their name on ceding official Russian territory and with destroyed gas export infrastracture, so getting rid of him is no longer as tempting of a way back to normal for Russia.

Fair assessment. I think if Crimea gets retaken (which appears very likely right now), Putin is gone. Right now he seems to be relying on "this is a problem that only I can fix", but once that problem is too big, they'll just can him.
