Official statement says that the attacks were committed by ISIS and hardly counted as a war against own people. And definitely, the attack to an airport (to international zone not the domestic one for this case) is very unexpected no matter what happens. I couldn't see any difference between Brussels attack and the attack in Istanbul in that matter.

Soon people will start popping up saying we need stricter gun control and less discrimination from the bigoted right wing to adress the issue. And less Islamophobia obviously.

The constitutional court overturned the result of the presidential election on May 22nd due to irregularities in the counting process. Although there is no evidence that actual manipulation took place, the possibility cannot be ruled out and the election must be repeated. Right-wing candidate Norbert Hofer, who was defeated by Green candidate Alexander Van der Bellen by a margin of only 30.000 votes, will get another chance to become the EU's first right-wing populist president.

Which is weird since Austria is part of the EU and new countries have to be unanimously approved. So they can't join while he is elected unless he allows it.

I doubt that that would be in Hofer's power. Should be a decision by parliament and/or the government, not the president.

They will have to 'solve' Cyprus before seriously thinking about membership. And the way it trends, it is not happening in the next 50 years....
