best 50 dollars i ever spent is a tie between
a.) morning after pill for when a condom broke with my high school girlfriend, who was a complete cunt and if i had a kid with her i may as well have just ended my life right then,
b.) cleansing drink to hide the fact i smoked weed the day before a drug test to get a job, a job where i met the girl of my dreams...

The best money ever spent was probably on World of Warcraft? So $40 plus $8/month literally had 2 months play time on that game, so if you think about it for the money you paid you got your investment in great addictive gameplay

First I have to agree with intrigue; SC1 battle chest for $20.
Recently, I'll go with the Elder Scrolls 3, 4, 5 bundle from some online store for $20. I put about 180 hours into Morrowind in a few weeks and still have two more games to play!
A much earlier one is probably when I picked up Final Fantasy 7 used for $20 or so a year or two after it came out. I had already borrowed/played it some, but after buying it I played the hell out of it over the next ~15 years. Do yourself a favor and install the tamriel rebuilt addon, and delay moving up to oblivion/skyrim for as long as possible. If you enjoy morrowind you're probably going to be disappointed by the sequels.
On topic, I bought the goty pack for elderscrolls 3 a couple years back for $10 and have sunk 700 hours into it. I dont think I've gotten this much out of any other game ever lol.
Also, this might be a bit too much but I feel the 4 grand I spent on a year of political science after I finished my comp science degree was money spent absolutely brilliantly. I might not get a job out of it, but I sure as hell enjoyed the subjects and having a well rounded education never hurts.

dunno if this counts, but best 3-4 digit investment was getting a dog. I got him from a shelter, so that part was free but getting all the stuff like his bed, toys, the medical exams, etc added up to almost a 1000USD-s.
He literally changed my life, helped me get out of depression and made me a much better person. I take him with me everywhere I can, restaurants, bars, parties... and man, do chicks love guys with dogs

@$80 my mech. keyboard was an excellent buy. Haven't suffered fatigue from typing and gaming in ages.
@$200 my dog from the SPCA is a baller. His first vet bill was twice as much, but his loyalty is priceless.
@$2,700 my car has already paid for itself in versatility and travelling comfort.
The best deal would have to have been the dog, though. I'm going to be really bummed out when he dies.

The visual experience is definitely worth every penny.
...this counts, right? Damn that's too much. Did you have sex after you gave her that? While she was wearing it?

Giving 2 euros to a beggar outside Notre Dame de Paris despite being scolded for it.

Under $20: Morrowind GOTY a few years back I bought a full set of The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire for $300. Beautifully bound and includes sketches from Gibbon. Next week going to buy my plane tickets to Naples (~$1100) for when I study abroad next semester. I'm sure that will count

1) The best amount below 15 € / 20 USD you've ever spent. $12 A map of the forest roads / 4x4 trails in my area. I've used this soo many times, the fuel savings of not being lost in the hills has more than payed for itself.
2) The best two digit amount you've ever spent. $59.99 - SC2 WoL. It got me off of Runescape ($8 a month was lul) for good and Husky was a great sellsman (beautiful storms in late 2010 was beautiful). No HotS though.
3) The best three digit amount you've ever spent. $230 - Win7, CPU cooler, PSU, optical drive, case and fans. My brother gave me his desktop that he bought from a computer flipper friend (which I now know was a complete dumbass when it came to computers). I used it for SC2 as I got it from my brother until it died mid 2011 (torrented win7 bug made the PSU fail). So I fixed it, then overclocked the CPU and GPU as far as it can and it's been smooth sailing from there. Recently I bought a new case, oh my god front USB and headphone plug is soo good.

All the following ones deserve to be mentionned too ! Broodwar is a good answer too^^ In search of lost time . That is book one right? I'd have to say that my best triple digit splurge was my WASDkeyboard, which I love . I got a semi-custom and its been amazing since I got it, though I might change that after I get a longboard for college. I've wanted the Tan Tien for what seems like four years now lol. Yes ! Maybe not the best one, but as I bought each part separatly, I had to choose, and this is what got me into the rest.

Starcraft 2, the best $112 dollars I've ever spent on a game till now. (I used to dislike the game until I bought and tried it, then i never stopped loving it)

Best 3-digit-amount I ever spent was a weber one touch grill. The best grill on planet earth (obvsly not for bbq) despite it being so simple.

34 € for a 3 month Meetic subscription. There I met my wife.

bought a 1tb hard drive for about 50 bucks. one week later, the prices spiked up to 140 dollars.

For 2) I'd probably have to go with the original Half-Life. Even if there had only been the original Half-Life without even multiplayer that would have been a great buy. But on top of that there was the standard HL multiplayer, which was tons of fun, and a staggering amount of amazing multiplayer mods that I think to this day is second to none. Counter-Strike was of course the highlight and I've probably spent more time playing Counter-Strike than any other game except WoW. But then there was also things like Deathmatch Classic, Team Fortress, Day of Defeat and a whole bunch of other stuff. When it comes to value for money for games I really think it's hard to beat the original Half-Life.

You guys all have nice sentimental purchases (or condoms), but the best money I ever spent was when the network adapter came out for PS2. I preorded it at Gamestop paying full price a few months before it came out. Not long after I learned our internet wouldn't be good enough to support the adapter so I cancelled my preorder and got my money back. A few months later I went in to buy a game and the guy told me I still had the preorder paid for and asked if I'd just like my money back. Invested $50...came away with $100.

20-30$: Nothing really, I haven't felt so strongly about something that's in that range

I would say either the 2k I spent on the amazing computer that I am sitting at right now. Or the $17 I spent on Crusader Kings 2. I have over a thousands hours of gameplay on that bitch. Oh yea.
