Are you fucking kidding me? Jarrett lives in LA (married with a kid), Joel and Geoff elsewhere in Canada/USA, Dave is off in Africa, and they need to be able to pay bills, fly around and meet up, find locations and film. Their goal is to go to S.Korea and film (this also helps sc2 and esports!). In addition, post-production and soundtrack take a lot of time and effort.
This is hardly selling out, they are looking to create something for the gaming community which they helped create and popularise. Your attitude is a disgrace.
If you look at the perks on indiegogo they already plan to sell more products after release, which no doubt will earn them plenty of cash. On top of that they are asking for $75k up front, which even under generous estimations greatly exceeds the budget for all previous episodes of the web series put together. It's simply ridiculous to believe they need that money to make what will amount to another episode or two.
That's why to me it seems like they just want to cash in on the franchise they have created. I don't blame them for that, but it does make them sell-outs.
if just 1 in 37 viewers of the show donates $1 they have raised $80,000
maybe you would prefer it if they sold their house, paid for the movie themselves, then donated the proceeds to charity
i mean jarret's wife would probably leave him if she heard he was going to quit work, fuck off and make a movie for 6 months for less than $20k. you'd have to be mad to call them sellouts, or at least have no idea what living in the real world is like
They aren't going to take that much time. 6 months are more than 1440 hours if you convert it into work days. That's a ridiculous amount of time for such a project. While the time span might turn out to be accurate if they would take their time, the effort and hours required just don't add up. We can safely assume that it took them less than 50 hours of work to make an episode. So in that time they would be able to make 28 episodes. We're looking at a much smaller figure than that.
Add to that that they're condoning a game like LoL which is as casual as it gets in online games but coincidentally is sporting great profit and I'm having a really hard time not considering them sell-outs. If they really wanted to create something for the esports community they would take it back to its roots and not jump on the most profitable, most fraudulent ship in the sea.
Segata Sanshiro would question them deep inside their hearts.
Ultimately, I loved the original series. What's more, I downloaded it all for free. I've never given them a cent of my money. Have you ain? Why all the bitterness?
Seems to me that sending a few bob their way isn't going to hurt me none. The result might not be great, but who knows.. they might blow us all away with awesomeness. Wouldn't that be fantastic?

You have absolutely no idea what goes into making a movie or show. A 20 minute episode likely took them hundreds of hours, not under 50. Don't make uneducated assumptions. Incidentally, calling them sellouts because they're making something that involves e-sports and including the most popular e-sport of the moment is absolutely ridiculous.
The people just above me are making reference to them "condoning" LoL and things of that nature. No idea what that would mean other than LoL is getting treatment in the storyline.
Yeah I didn't mean to imply the movie would be about LoL. Jarett could be seen wearing a LoL T-Shirt in some promo videos and also mentioned he loves playing LoL. It's not a big deal, but I'm afraid it might affect the movie. A LoL playing Jeremy is the last thing I'd want to see.

75K to shoot a feature is a moderate amount. I've shot shorts and B-Horror films with budgets as low at 10K, but considering what they want to do with this. Their goal was reasonable if you ask me. Just cross your fingers that it turns out better than their Showcase series.
in that teaser video people were speculating about d.apollo recording that for the show.
history lesson:
d.apollo was the GOD of cnc3, and was a large part of the other cnc games. he's a multiple WCG winner and is referenced a lot even in the early episodes of PP
the cnc community was historically mostly on cncreplays.org (later renamed to gamereplays.org) where PP originally came from. as well as myself, both apollo and jarrett cale of pp were constantly on their as well.
its just so fitting. I hope apollo sees this thread and comments!

woha sweet, i had no idea about this bagground stuff thanks for informing about the early early days of the beginning of something turning out to be unforgetable :D
The TV series wasn't up to par with the webseries because corperate interest, not because Geoff and Jarrett lost their Mojo. I for one am absolutely baffled by the amount of support the have received and had I known of this earlier I would've donated a couple bucks for sure. This is actually one the best news I heard in a LOOONG time, and I'm super pumped how this will turn out.
For the LOL thing; Jarrett once said, if he could rewrite the whole webseries he would've made Jeremy a Starcraft player. So I expect Jeremy to be a SC2 player, with Doug being the FPS guy, they probably introduce another character that will fill in as the LOL player. I could imagine a plot like when Jeremy first met Anastasia and then started getting lost in the WOW world or something similar to that.
ROFLMAO Productions posted up a trailer a couple of weeks ago. no one posted it so here it is. it states the full movie arrives SUMMER 2015.
the arguing in the youtube comments is more entertaining than the trailer... i'm not sure if it is art imitating life or life imitating art.

he was top notch for a very short time with some very specific builds and tactics. overall, i'd have to say Technique is the best modern day (2003+) C&C player by a pretty wide margin. TheGunRun would be a good guy to ask about this.
that said, Apollo is full value for his accomplishments as an SC2 broadcaster. IMO, only Artosis is better.
