SF's random fashion thoughts has good discussions on the business side of fashion, lots of insiders and knowledgeable people. I read some content sites for lookbooks, browse forums, no blogs or tumblrs. Picked up a few books recently but haven't had time to read them.
So glad I didn't size down for the uniqloxlemaire coat, the cut is nice and roomy, makes up for the average fabric.
Ok so this is a first, I'm 90% sure the sleeves have been shortened and the seller didn't mention anything. I went TTS and the sleeves come up to my wrist.
fucking lol grailed
The seller has 5/5 feedback from 57 listings, first he denied it was altered, then claimed he received it as a gift, tried it on, and hadn't touched it since. He refused to give a refund and opened a case. Pretty sure I'll stomp him.
i've been trying to make an account on both care tags and sf, for some reason it won't let me. care tags isn't sending the confirmation email, sf captcha keeps failing wtf
Went to the mall for the first time in a long time.
It was interesting to see the influences of "internet" fashion on "mainstream" fashion. There were RO elongated tees and AMI overcoats at H&M. I would see a pretty nice looking piece and be attracted to it, only to touch it and examine it and slowly feel a wave of revulsion wash over me. Fabric predictably feels crappy. There's no life in the cut when worn. It doesn't even cost 4 figures.
I think jet said it best; when you start owning relatively well made clothing, you start becoming more discerning and allergic to cheaper stuff. That being said, I just want a girl who wears Zara head to toe
There's no better way to deter yourself from buying fast fashion than going into fast fashion stores and seeing the type of people who shop there and asking yourself if you really want to be like them. Makes me kind of glad I live in a town that has no "fashion" shops or scene. Not having to drive 5 hours to find the nearest place stocking designer/contemporary menswear would be nice but the whole gross "Im a fashion god I shop at Zara Im so fashion and youre not" thing is kept to a minimum.
