We are extremely close to shutting down this thread for the same reasons the PUA thread was shut down. While some of the time this thread contains actual discussion with people asking help and people giving nice advice, it often gets derailed by rubbish that should not be here. The moderation team will be trying to steer this thread in a different direction from now on. Posts of the following nature are banned: 1) ANYTHING regarding PUA. If your post contains the words 'alpha' or 'beta' or anything of that sort please don't hit post. 2) Stupid brags. You can tell us about your nice success stories with someone, but posts such as 'lol 50 Tinder matches' are a no-no. 3) Any misogynistic bullshit, including discussion about rape culture. 4) One night stands and random sex. These are basically brags that invariably devolve into gender role discussions and misogynistic comments. Last chance, guys. This thread is for dating advice and sharing dating stories. While gender roles, sociocultural norms, and our biological imperative to reproduce are all tangentially related, these subjects are not the main purpose of the thread. Please AVOID these discussions. If you want to discuss them at length, go to PMs or start a blog. If you disagree with someone's ideologies, state that you disagree with them and why they won't work from a dating standpoint and move on. We will not tolerate any lengthy derailments that aren't directly about dating.

Though you should pretty much wear the best item of what you like to wear and what suits you and your personality. Myself, I go with Business Casual including tie, but that's what I wear even on a lazy Sunday. I just pick my best shirt and tie instead of what's at the front of the valet stand. Then again, you probably shouldn't take advice from me ![]()

Also, take care of your face/ hair if you're trying to clean up. Keep facial hair trimmed or just shave. The homeless look is partially about the wardrobe and partially about your body. It never hurts to eat better or start working out a little bit each day.

And don't listen to mr. Proffesor right here, the most attractive facial hair on average is actually a 10 day stubble. So if you're comfortable wear that!

If you grow your hair but are clean-shaven, you look suave. If you grow your beard but have a fresh cut, you look masculine. If you grow both out you look like a hobo and if you grow neither out you look like a kid (unless you have a nice jaw). Note that "grow" is used loosely. If you let your stubble set in but cut your hair you'll still have something in the "beard" category IMO.

It sounds ridiculous but if you look at all the reviews for Mane 'n Tail it's all people using it on themselves (or sometimes their dogs). It helps your hair grow and also thickens the strands a bit. It's saved me money on hair gel too. Literally what?! It's used so much that they actually have two sets of instructions, one for humans and one for animals. Human section comes first. It might be anecdotal on my end because I got the idea from my friend who got it from his mom, but I'm starting to notice the effects. My hair was soft to begin with but now I basically have a pixie cloud on my hair. I actually love when people run their fingers through my hair and watch their excitement. I don't know why black people don't let non-black people do this more often, it feels really nice on my scalp as well.

If you grow your hair but are clean-shaven, you look suave. If you grow your beard but have a fresh cut, you look masculine. Those are overgeneralizations that aren't even stereotypically true, afaik... let alone safe bets for everyone. People should definitely try different hair styles/ facial hair styles until they find something that suits them, but plenty of people just cannot pull off long vs. short hair because of their face shape, nor facial hair because of how it grows in.

That's a contradiction if I've ever heard one. 10 day stubble? Stubble is 1-3 days of being unshaven lol... after that, the beard (or however much facial hair a person can usually grow) starts to come in fuller. I think stubble is awesome (and many girls find it attractive to look at... even though in practice, it's often irritating when their cheeks rub up against yours), but clean shaven can look nice *and* feel nice. And I agree that you should be clean and smell nice.

It's not as wrong as you think when you factor in the ability to grow a beard (I can't, for one).

You can especially see the exact moment of realization on guys, where it goes from the awkwardness of feeling another man's hair, to the amazing sensation of what can only be described as inedible cotton candy (that doesn't stick to your hand).
