I haven't heard anyone complain about his money specifically. More how many people he screwed over to get that money. How he doesn't create jobs, he destroys them to make another buck.

Honestly, I haven't heard people are attacking him for being rich. They're laughing at him trying to relate to "regular folk" and failing miserably every time.
Exactly, i don't dislike romney because he's rich, i dislike him because he's a twofaced fraud who consistently flip flops and tries to pull bullshit like "i'm not rich" or that he doesnt care about the very poor. The same can be said about Santorum. Paul is the only running candidate for gop that has my respect as a human being.

What scares me is the fact that so many people couldn't give any less of a fuck in terms of your rights when it supports their agenda to try and regulate your lifestyle.

Texas Rep. Ron Paul on Monday announced that five distant relatives of rival Mitt Romney’s family are endorsing his Republican presidential campaign.
A news release from the Paul campaign boasts of having the support of Ty Romney, Travis Romney, Chad Romney, Jared Romney and Troy Romney. Three of the Romneys — who live in Idaho — will speak on Paul’s behalf during the state’s caucuses on Tuesday.
“I support Ron Paul because he defends the Constitution, loves America and understands what it means to be an American, including the right to live your life any way you want as long as you respect others,” said chiropractor Travis Romney, a second cousin once removed from Mitt Romney.
This isn’t the first time a family member of one of Paul’s rivals announced support for the libertarian-leaning candidate from Texas. Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum’s nephew, John Garver, penned a column for The Daily Caller endorsing Paul.

I just don't see how his specific business experience would be beneficial. He was a silver spooner that earned his wealth through capital investment and exploiting every loophole available. And since he's made it clear he has no interest in closing those loopholes, what possible political advantage can this give him.
Sadly, he can't run on his experience as a successful, relatively moderate governor either, because than he will be alienating the crazies of the GOP.
All he has left to run on is hIs personality. Which is as exciting as in unbuttered toast.

Family ties, no matter how distant, mean a lot to Americans for no reason at all. I can confirm that it means a lot to me, I have no reasons why... Or at least I don't know the reasons why.

If a second cousin of mine objected to my political platform I would not care in the slightest, nor would I expect them to feel in any way divided over it nor anyone else to find it remotely strange. If my parents won't vote for me then that'd be a pretty poor showing but second cousin is going back to great grandparents to find a common ancestor, if we assume four kids per family (American families were pretty big) then we're looking at an average person having three siblings, fifteen first cousins and 48 second cousins. If they're married then you double that number. At a certain point you cease to have a meaningful personal relationship with them.

This reminds me of that incest thread. It's not news, it's a press release. As we get closer to game day Candidate X will be able to put out a press release on the consistency of their morning crap and it will be all over the news holes before you can say "Remember Journalism?"

Barbara Bush:
“I think it’s been the worst campaign I’ve ever seen in my life,” she said Monday at Southern Methodist University during a conference on the influence of the nation’s first ladies. “I hate that people think compromise is a dirty word. It’s not a dirty word,” she said... On a question about the loss of civility in Washington, Laura Bush recalled seeing bitter cartoons about Abraham Lincoln and diplomatically said, “You see that and you realize it’s just a part of American politics.”
But her mother-in-law disagreed. “I think the rest of the world is looking at us these days and saying, ‘What are you doing?’”

Ofcourse he would be near a GOP candidate, they're all evil geniuses after all!
Jokes aside, I can't believe Ann Romney has the audacity to even think to compare herself with poor people. How many cars did she drive again?

Even (very) serious newspapers here are basically calling the republican race a frace and it's candidates basically dangerous/insane/ridiculous.. Whatever . The only thing you basically never see are "nice" words about them...
A shame the US is so important, else this whole stuff would be a giant joke.

A new Fox News poll shows that in a head to head match up against President Obama, none of the republican candidates have more than 14 percent support among Latino voters. Remembering that President Bush had around 40 percent when he won, this could be a serious challenge for winning in 2012.
But the poll shows that the overwhelming choice among likely Latino voters is President Obama. In head-to-head match-ups none of the GOP candidates would garner more than 14 percent of the Latino vote come November, the poll said.

The GOP will also do their best to keep Latino turnout low, namely via changing the voting ID requirements.
