On the one hand they teach embracing cultural diversity and celebrating the differences between ethical backgrounds. Then they teach that everyone is equaly the same regardless of gender, race, cultural upbringing etc. if we're all the same how do we celebrate differences? If your college really did teach you that everyone is literally "the same regardless of gender, race, ...", I'd humbly suggest you to sue them. Or maybe you're just grossly distorting what they really said, which is that gender, race, etc, should not be used as a basis for judging and/or relatively rating an individual and his/her gender/race/culture/whatever.

Judging by whatisthisasheep's previous posts in other threads, he is likely "grossly distorting" what was taught to him. The bait post is strong with this one.

I would recommend unary instead though, it gives a much better feel and visual representation of the relative size of numbers. edit: bazinga

Put your ternary numerals (why would you use those BTW?) In a better format. Tab separated text files for example, or coma separated if you really want excel compatibility. Which format is best depends on a lot of things of course, but excel spreadsheet is rarely the answer, and is almost always regretted.

On the one hand they teach embracing cultural diversity and celebrating the differences between ethical backgrounds. Then they teach that everyone is equaly the same regardless of gender, race, cultural upbringing etc. if we're all the same how do we celebrate differences? Let me help: -Gender causes differences, but is on a spectrum, and no position is better than any other. Lots of people are fluid across the spectrum (all of us, in our own way). -Race causes some basic differences in appearance, but even this is very imprecise and it certainly has no tangible effect beyond facial, skin, and stature traits. -Cultures/religions can be very different from one another, and to an extent we can put valuations on them. A culture that treats women like shit, or holds slaves, or beats children, or picks one dude to get fucked by all the other dudes, is worse than an otherwise identical culture that does not do that. But when you say that "all cultures should be celebrated" or that "diversity should be celebrated," you're recognizing that common human traits like the desire for meaning and beauty are found in all cultures, and are given different expressions in each. Aztec culture was brutal, embraced dark magic of the throwing-babies-down-staircases form, and was inveterately violent. But it also created monuments and art of startling beauty and profundity that are unlike any others across the world. The point isn't that all cultures are equal; it's that we're better off with more beauty and profundity, and the best way to get that is to see the many ways that cultures--even the most barbaric ones--have discovered it in our world. If you don't speak to her, no one you care about will get angry if you go, thus you don't have to go. Really? I quite enjoy weddings of people I like. It's a big old party where you get to be happy about your friends' relationship victories.
