Ok since most of you are morons heres an easy one.
There are 2 kinds of ppl, knights and thieves, knights always tell the truth and thieves always lie.
So theres 3 persons (A,B,C), an outsider asks A "are you a knight or a thief?", he answers but he cant hear him, so he asks B "what did A say?", so B answers: He said he is a thief, quickly C turns and says to the outsider, "dont listen to B, he always lie"
So what are A, B or C, thief, knight cant know.

beheading videos rules
|
i watched one beheading video it made me sick and depressed for a long time i never watched another
|
theres one particular beheading video that is the most sickening, because you can hear the guy struggly for his life and begging, and the throat noises keep going for a long time, pretty nasty, i dont know how those arabs have the stomach to do such a thing.

The boy/girl one is 50% not 2/3...
Take this: Woman is giving birth to two kids, not twins, first one is a girl. What is the probability that the next will be a boy? or wateva the question was.
its 50%, the fact that the first baby (or the child who opened the door) is a girl has no affect on the gender of the other.

It can never be bad to repeat that. So many people felt smart for applying a complicated logic to this problem they didn't even realize it didn't fit to the problem.

ROTFL i was expecting to see more discussion but not THIRTY PAGES i fucking love that girl/boy riddle :D people get sooooooo insanely stubborn about it, its frustrating if u try really hard to convince them but beautiful if u just accept it. its just so hard to escape your "common sense" that theres always a 50% chance. this is my favorite way of explaining it, i'll try one last time: (i beg you, just consider "even though common sense says it is 50% and this is completely obvious maybe just maybe i could be incorrect")
lets say instead of 2 children the woman is Mother Earth and she has 8,000,000,000 children. the people who think its 50% and not 2/3 are arguing that even over such a long sample size as the entire planet, there is no tendency towards a 50/50 layout of boys/girls. then how do u explain that this is what happened on the planet earth? the larger the sample size, the less likely it is to be all one gender.
same with coin flips. anyone who knows anything about probability knows that the longer you flip a coin for, the closer to 50/50 layout of heads/tails you will come. everyone can agree with this. it is mathematically impossible to flip a coin 1,000,000,000,000 times and have more than 60% of either heads or tails. do u see the connection between this and the boy/girl problem?

Common sense says 50% People who know the curtain riddle and love it too much think 66%. People who think for themselves and really read the question know it is 50%
|
karslberg, can u please just read what i wrote and think about it? I KNOW common sense says its 50%. probability goes AGAINST ur intuition. thats just the way it is. plz read the post above yours.
|
I know the curtain riddle and understand it very well. Now ask yourself if I would answer 50% just because it is common sense.
|
why do u refuse to read and respond to my post?
|
i wrote that whole thing for your benefit, the benefit of the ppl who still think its 50%...if u want to be totally arrogant and not even read my post i may as well not have written it. u really just dont want to be wrong, thats what it comes down to. believing u are right is more important than finding out for sure if u are right. why not just reconsider for 10 seconds?
|
You have the right to be wrong but just in case you want to know the result of your own riddle.
There are 8 possible situations (all of which are as likely to happen). BB and the 1st boy answers BB and the 2nd boy answers BG and the boy answers BG and the girl answers GB and the girl answers GB and the boy answers GG and the 1st girl answers GG and the 2nd girl answers
Of these 8, we can get rid of 4 (because we know a girl answered) the remainings are: BG and the girl answers GB and the girl answers GG and the 1st girl answers GG and the second girl answers
|
By the way I did read all your posts but you are wrong.
|
The trick is: Saying "The child who answered is a girl." is not the same as saying "One of the children is a girl."
Unless you know a boy who has a sister would always let her go when someone is at the door.
|
hey karlsberg i got an idea: read my post and respond to it? one thing i noticed this whole thread is the stubborn 50/50 people will only debate by ignoring what the 2/3 people say and then laying down their own train of thjought that the 2/3 people will then respond to. if u really want to discuss it and validate ur opinion i challenge you to really read what i wrote and write a response to it.
if u dont want to thats fine but u should also admit that u are just clinging to ur answer out of stubborn refusal to admit u might be wrong .
