re: the woman with the kids "riddle"
Havnt read all the posts so dont flame...
I still think 50% is the correct answer based on the information given.
She has 2 kids a boy (B) and a girl (G), one is stated as being a girl - surely logic dictates that the only two factual possibilities (without making trends or assumptions) left are:
G & B G & G
when you have only 2 factors (B and G) and factor one is definitly G then all combinations must include factor G. This leaves only two options (as above)
Option 1 - G & B - (1) Option 2 - G & G - (2)
1/2 = .50 = 50%
Prove me wrong.
Edit: Famouze I think I understand your thinking, but your asking a logical question and applying a trend/common sense/probability formula to try and solve it. not logic. logic dictates the answer is 50%. 10000 coin tosses, 9999 heads leaves 1 coin toss with two (2) possible outcomes, the chance of that outcome being heads is still 50%. the other 9999 coin tosses are obsolete. your still trying to apply a probability logic to a mathematic formula. it dosnt work. yes your correct in that it would "PROBABLY" be tails, but you cant calculate something like that acurately, 66% is horrible.

(do you guys use daylight saving time in the US too btw, just curious) no (yes)

Would I EVER understand the red/blue cardd riddle?

when he heard the phone ring, did he know who the caller was before the phone rang, but after he jumped, did he know that the phone COULD ring at that point in time.

hahaha ssidengi :D
Did his suicide have to do with employment
Did his suicide have to do with family
Did his suicide have to do with his lovelife

The 66/33 split is stupid. Imagine the woman already has a baby girl and is giving birth to a second child. There's a 2/3 chance that it will be a boy? I don't think so.
People are trying to confound common sense with logic tho, so have to beat them down :D
