Crisis in Japan - Page 81
Forum Index > General Forum |
Thread is about the various issues surrounding Japan in the aftermath of the recent earthquake. Don't bring the shit side of the internet to the thread, and post with the realization that this thread is very important, and very real, to your fellow members. Do not post speculative and unconfirmed news you saw on TV or anywhere else. Generally the more dramatic it sounds the less likely it's true.

Guy on the BBC saying that he'd expect aftershocks to continue for a while yet, though there shouldn't be a risk of further Tsunami's unless a quake is over 7.0 in strength and pretty shallow beneath the sea bed.

If he said that, it is remarkable for itself, since his party is the political wing of the nuclear industry. Well however, how should he know something, being on the other side of the world.... Oh btw there are 2 big elections upcoming in 2 weeks in germany and a (therefore) huge anti-nuclear-energy-protest near my home (planned before this events). So please doublecheck any information coming from germany. Lets simply hope for the best.

Whats worrying me (and CNN ) is that the San Francisco quakes might be around the corner, starting to see some quakes in California.

Prime Minister Kan denied a meltdown, so on N24 they guess there really didn't happen any, else he would pobably not have disclosed any information about this at all.

Japan-based reporter Judit Kawaguchi tweets: town of 17,000 seems to have only 3 buildings standing, hospital, some wedding place and one more building. rest are gone. This town in Miyagi prefecture is just gone, incredible devastation, all buildings except hospital are gone, highway in pieces., ppl missing
