Thread is about the various issues surrounding Japan in the aftermath of the recent earthquake. Don't bring the shit side of the internet to the thread, and post with the realization that this thread is very important, and very real, to your fellow members. Do not post speculative and unconfirmed news you saw on TV or anywhere else. Generally the more dramatic it sounds the less likely it's true.

Why are you asking? Nuclear powerplant seems to be under control. I really hate the greenpeace guy talking in french news as an expert explaining that this is going to be like Tchernobyl... Cause if there was really another wave of earthquakes of significant magnitude that hit the nuclear plant, the nuclear reactor might really explode this time and flick the consequences Ok you sounded as you had suspicions about it happening... Anyway lets hope for the best

The good news (for me) is I was finally able to contact the few friends and family members there and they are all okay! And don't worry about the American bashing guys, it comes with the territory of being the most powerful country in the world. When there is a crisis, they will all turn to America because they know they are the only country that has the strength/willingness to help. Noone is going to turn to China or Chile and expect anything other then vocal and ceremonial support.

The Minamisanriku video footage is just disheartening. I hope the casualty numbers don't rise to the level some media are already speculating about (10.000+).
