Basically, a Korean Professor in plastic surgery wrote a paper and created these faces from different celebrities. The reason why it came up was that their was a study done on the 'golden ratio' of beauty that a woman's face should have to be truly beautiful, but this Prof has added that there needs to be racial consideration actually. I think the person who has a perfect ratio was Shania Twain.
Well personally, the Korean one definitely isn't the ideal face of beauty for me, but damn the African and the Chinese ones look good to me, thoughts?

A Korean plastic surgeon Sunday unveiled composite photos of the most appealing female face for each ethnicity.
Rhee Seung-chul of Inje University Ilsan Paik Hospital’s Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery published a paper on “Attractive Composite Faces” of various races and ethnic groups in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the journal of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
The “attractive” faces were created by composing famous actresses of each country — 13 Africans, 16 Caucasians, 20 Chinese and 14 Japanese.
For instance, Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox, and Scarlet Johansson are included in the Caucasian examples, while the African models include Rihanna, Agbani Darego, Yamin Warsame and others.
The faces of Chinese entertainers used for the morphed image are Wei Tang, Li Gong, Maggie Cheung among others, while the Japanese sample is a combination of Juri Ueno, Yuu Aoi, Ryoko Hirosue and 11 more faces.
According to Rhee’s composite picture, the attractive Japanese face has a relatively long stucture with a narrow chin and thick cheeks. The charming Chinese woman has small cheekbones and a slim jaw line.
The average Caucasian beauty has the most masculine face among the ethnic groups. “They have keen eyes, thick lips and protruding cheekbones,” Rhee said in his paper.
The example of an African face has a narrower nose, more acute eyes, and slender chin compared with the ordinary African face.
Rhee said there have been attempts to standardize the face of beauty based on the golden ratio, but it is inaccurate due to racial limitations.
“The composite pictures of the average beauty representing each race will help understand new aesthetic preferences considering the diversity of races and ethnic groups in modern society,” the doctor said.
In 2006, Rhee conducted a similar project with 19 Korean female entertainers and the ideal Korean beauty has thin lips and slightly wide eyes with a sharp nose.

hahah niceeeeee i like all of the examples posted there :D
the korean ideal face seems a bit baby face though, while the other races ones look a bit more mature.

Oh, I misunderstood the title.
I thought it was asking what the stereotypical Zerg player would look like, or Terran player, or Protoss player. *Those* races, rather than Earth races.
Your topic is very interesting, though I'd like to see what the stereotypical StarCraft-race players would look like too

Japanese>Chinese>Caucasian>African>Korean, as a Caucasian. These specific examples seem pretty ehh. I think the african could look way better. So I'm not sure how accurate this is.
The korean one especially looks horrible wtf.

The thing about these faces is they're fucking boring. I'd rather have a uniquely beautiful woman than a mannequin.
|
Why didn't they use models instead of actresses? Actress weeds out the hot people that can't act. It seems like using models will ensure that they get the prettiest of the prettiest girls.

lmao, that's the same i was thinking when i clicked on this thread

they all look pretty damn good in my opinion

Is it me or do they all look like plastic? I guess for me the biggest turn-on is if a woman is still amazingly beautiful without layers of makeup.
|
This is not at all some ideal, perfectly beautiful face. This is just showing what the movie industries in each country want their actresses to look like. That's going to change over time. The look now is totally different that it was 20 years ago, for example, or even 10 years ago.

You cant do this, just combining a lot of attractive faces wont get you the "ideal" person.
Here, I made the "ideal" piece of portrait art
|
Caucasian looks like a mix of Keira Knightley and Scarlet Johanson, and Chinese looks 99% like Zhang Ziyi. Do you guys think that the face representing your race looks best? I do, like Caucasian the most.

Thats just because they are composites, if you combine alot of faces they end up averaging out imperfections in the skin which gives them a flat and painted look.

well i had the feeling that it was implied in the study that doctor rhee was trying to create the ideal face for the current few generations :\

The African woman looks like shes had generations of white ancestors. Either that or she is wearing a horrendous amount of make up.

Like this quote: "to standardize the face of beauty based on the golden ratio" That implies that they're discovering some deep truth, when it's really just a fashion/marketing trend.
The African face is indeed extremely light skinned. There's a reason that Halle Berry is almost the only A-list African American actress right now. Actually all of them except the caucasian face are a lot lighter skinned than the average person.

No way that woman is an "average" for an african face. Definitely looks mixed. Japanese seems way off too. Everything else could be true I guess.
