To preface: I am a HUGE House fan, and have been since the beginning. The comedy, the mysteries, the characters, the season story arcs, everything have been brilliant, and it is a show I will always love.
However.
If this season (and it's final episode next week) aren't the final episodes and we continue on to a season 8 and possibly further - I'm going to be very pissed.
The Simpsons - a show I liked, until season 4 - season 5? Sure it was still there, and decent fun most of the way through. Season 6? No. 7? Gtfo I'm bored now.
I do NOT want this to happen to my beloved House, which has been interestingly enough - something I actually used to have playing on my tv/pc while I was going to sleep - I know just about every word of every episode. But to push on through this very... desperate season and further would be a catastrophe to me. I don't want to "hate a season" just because the writers think that they can squeeze out some more content. We all know (generally) how the plots work per-episode, we know the "tricks" the writers try and pull on us in some episodes (eg the "lol this person is sick! NO IT'S ACTUALLY THAT PERSON!" stuff).
Be as... noble... as Star Trek and stick with a certain amount of seasons and just let it end on a great note. I know a lot of the other House fans will rage about these comments, but seriously - do you really want House for another 10 years?

Agreed about the series needing to end soon. To be honest I felt last season could have been done to be the ender, but they decided to do this House + Cuddy theme, which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. That being seemingly done with, they really need to close out the series with this season. This latest episode was really well done, and definitely can be the momentum builder to end the series if done properly.
Anymore seasons risks dragging the show out and taking its high quality down a few pegs, which I do not want to see. I'd be really disappointed if there's another season, despite loving this show and enjoying it greatly, it would be better to end it on good terms.

Oh I loved the new episode. It basically had me saying what the fuck the entire episode. Then having the whole despressing thing at the end just was the cherry on the top. I cant wait for more episodes and dont want them to stop!
Oh and cmon be real, just because they keep going doesn't mean it'll go on for 10 more years....it's only been on for 7-8 years as is. It will surely end in at most a couple seasons. Just enjoy the show while it's still on, because later when it ends you'll be saying you wish there was one more season!

It's still gonna go on for at least one more season. Olivia Wilde's scheduled to come back.

The latest episode is amazing, one of the best House's I've seen since the one he tried to save the lady stuck under all that debris.
The best part was the ending. So many depressing overtones...
+ Show Spoiler + I really did think he was going to kill himself. And I also thought he was gonna fight those kids after what the bartender said. I was WTFing when he jumped, but then he got in the water and I laughed and was amazed at the rollercoaster that this episode was. Ending it with all the kids partying because of him was amazing.
Not to mention shooting the asian hooker with an arrow was pretty lawl too ;-)

Seriously?
Can we assume that means getting rid of Masters? I want those legs to stay

Have Wilson and Cuddy shack up and see how that affects House.

Can't do that - firstly in season... 3 I think it was - Cuddy and Wilson go on a date and Cuddy referred to Wilson as a "Safe friend".
Secondly - the outcome of that type of plot would be House divorces Wilson, which essentially happened after Amber died, so I doubt that'd work.
I agree with Crownroyal - there seriously is a very limited progression given that a lot of things have been done

You guys are being too cynical here. I'd say this last episode proves that they still are creating reasonably high quality. There was significant character development that was at least suggested if not clearly occurring. I'm not certain how they will be able to produce another season with genuinely creative plot lines, but I think it is at least possible.

IMO these couple of episodes has been one of the best in the whole show.
Latest, amazing.

I'm so in love with Masters -_-

I really hope they'll end the show somewhere in the next two seasons. Season 7 has not been nearly as good as the previous ones, and it seems the writers have achieved everything they wanted to. The only way to let the show continue would be to let Cuddy die someway and see House struggle to find a way to live with the person he's been in love with for years. Wilson 's been out of the picture for a while now (since house got rid of his addiction and has a relationship he no longer needs Wilson looking after him), his team has been completely fleshed out and the diseases are becoming a little bit boring.

oh wow, I was totally scared for a minute there..
+ Show Spoiler +I actually thought he was going to kill himself

I rewatched the last scene like 100 times, god that's epic. <3
+ Show Spoiler +Arrow scene, heart explode scene and the last one increased my life a whole year atleast

I wonder what House would do if something happened to Wilson. Nothing's going to happen to Cuddy (we already had that scare), and Cuddy can't leave him again (they're already separated), so I wonder how much he'd snap if Wilson just randomly died or became severely hurt. Granted, I like Wilson, but it seems like something will eventually happen to him. He's too consistent of an aid for House.
