Well then, they have PLENTY of room for interpretation now don't they? XD

How fucking hard can it be to make an action flick out of a fighting game?!

I find it hard to believe they can get pictures of Sub Zero, Reptile, Baraka, etc. Yet they can't track them down? Are you fucking serious? Scorpion (who is the greatest assassin ever apparently) doesn't know Sub Zero is alive and yet the police do? Oh yeah, and everybody is working for the same big bad guy, who's organization was infiltrated by a movie actor... who was killed... by the doctor who installed blades in his arms.
So... that is actually a worse plot than the first one... didn't think that was possible. The more I think about this the more it becomes obvious that a 15 year old must have wrote this crap. We finally have the technology to make a real Mortal Kombat movie and this is what they give us. I really hope this is a trailer for the game because this looks like utter shit.
Someone get this guy a pacifier.

Yes, but given the history after the first movie, this is a welcomed change.

There's nothing on imdb about this movie. This must be a trailer for a game.
All I could find was this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1386939/
Which states there's a Mortal Kombat video game coming out in Dec 2010, made by Warner Bros. Studios' game developer company.
There's also a movie in the works scheduled for a 2013 release. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0293429/

The first one was better than this trailer looks.

i really like the new direction there taking, making it seem more "real". It's different but i think its gonna be awesome.
Reptile was always my favourite character, he better still be able to spit acid

dude wtf is wrong with you? what do you expect, some high level script which tells the story on 4 different levels and has a sixth sense twist at the end? Oo introduce the characters, done. make it plausible that the good guy wants to kill the bad guys, done.
that's fucking it. the rest is (hopefully) nice action including sick martial arts, nice special effects, fatalities, lots of blood and an awesome soundtrack (although it wont reach Mortal Kombat in that aspect I suppose)

At first I wasn't really feeling it. I didn't really like the whole series reboot making barraka and reptile into demented serial killers with diseases doesn't quite sit well with me. Especially with Reptile because he was a fucking a reptilian ninja man ..
With that being said, it definitely has potential and merit. I'm not really feeling the series reboot by creating new backstories/storylines, but if they make a game to go along with it to completely reboot the series and not just for a movie I can go along with it. I'm definitely interested in seeing how this turns out.

god no, not another one....

This dark style shown in the trailer doesn't fit mortal kombat very well in my opinion. The MK characters were always made out to be really unrealistic and out there and when you try to make them seem realistic by giving them backgrounds that try to explain the way they are it is kind of strange. The movie feels more like profound sadness than "Hell yeah!" kickass theme I would expect from MK.

Yeah...I just like to forget about there ever being a second movie.

If it is I will be pissed. I'm sure a lot of others will be as well.

Let's hope Jacks will put on his iron arms and kicks some ass.

Looks MUCH better than the other shit they've put out.
The story is w/e but if the fighting is decent between the big names it will be worth watching. Also having scorpion as the main character trying to kill reptile and sub-zero is amazing.

meh never liked the mortal kombat games, seen parts of the movies (omg horrible). fight scene in this one look kinda cool though, so i might dl it

Well uh...I'm not sure I follow you.
If it's just a game trailer (which I find unlikely given whose acting in it) then I would assume the trailer has to have at least some semblance to the story itself. This indicates that you can expect a total reboot of the series.
If it's a movie, I welcome a complete change in story line because MK needs it. It has grown slightly stale...and hasn't Lui Kang died like 4 times or something in the course of the story line? :o

Oh it's a movie expert!
What you think is a good movie and what other people think is a good movie will vastly differ, of that you can have no doubt.
