Even if it is for a game. You got to admit, its a nice direction to take for a MK movie. High budget, good actors/director, special effects, hopefully a good plot, and viral marketing will make me buy a ticket.

Even if the trailer isn't for the game- I remember reading once on a dev's twitter about MK9 coming out in later 2010, so there will be a game anyway. Personally, I don't like the trailer and I would rather have a game.

I'm glad that the cinematography isn't the shaky flying all over the place camera like most shitty movies these days (Transporter, Batman, Bourne, etc) but the choreography looks really shitty.

Mortal Kombat is total bad ass, the trailer doesn't show much but it looks like it could be pretty good to me. Just about crazy fights and techno music loool.

UPDATE 2: Cat's out of the bag. This is for the movie, and it comes from the mind of genius fight choreographer Larnell Stovall. He's the guy who did the fights for the excellent Undisputed 3: Redemption, on DVD and Blu-Ray right now. I hope that this movie gets made with Larnell plotting the punches, because this guy isn't just a geek like us, he's also got an incredible skill and ambition to create the next generation of fight choreography.

Have to watch this, seems like a decent movie, although it's impossible to please all the nerds when making movies out of games. I actually like the way this movie is going; a fairly fresh story for newcomers with some elements from the games/older movies to keep the enthusiasts happy.
