Chow Yun-Fat would be the best choice to play the part of Kung Lao but that would be well out of budget, and without counting that he probably wouldn't accept the part. Also Tony Jaa=Liu Kang himself, he could probably do it as well as Robin Shou did.

Basically its a brilliant ploy to put asses in seats for this era of entertainment by upping the gore. And it will work. For me personally the fights look lame as hell. There is nothing in that trailer that looks anywhere near fresh to my eyes. When i look at this it seems like such an obvious attempt to bring people to the theatre who arent video gamers by making it an almost "Seven"-esque presentation. But for me, thats such a tired old way to present something. Basically movie goers just want to see people fuck or die. The "Seven" formula works to legitimize what is basically an excuse to show gore by presenting it as "case studies" or crimes. Man, hollywood script writing is the gravy train of all gravy trains. The only thing stopping anyone from making a movie is the funding and manpower. You need literally only average creative skill to come up with something that will sell to the public these days. Its one liner after one liner and then throw a bunch of ominous filters over the footage to make it look like the mood that you should have been able to create from step 1 by just choosing the correct locations, cast, and dialogue. I know im in the minority with this opinion, but movies have become the horse and buggy of entertainment for me. I need more than just one liners, "grittier" remakes, and stuff that panders to either my ego or my libido. I cant sit through the puppet show anymore, i am too distracted by the puppeteer.

And I always thought scorpion had no face, just a skull that can breathe fire. Well whatever, I might watch it because scorpion/subzero/reptile are badass. I just wish they wore their ninja costumes.

Terrible casting job. All these people did is take an established franchise and remake it in the style of every "gritty" movie thats come out since like 2005. I dont know how people can not be bored of that same blue-ish or sepia filter they put on every single movie that they want to seem "dark" or "disturbed". Says the person who can't capitalize their 'I's for 80% of the posts. For a video game movie it looks awesome, from a normal movie it looks awesome, stop looking a gift horse in the mouth.

But the fight cinematography is trash. And batman begins is a terrible movie because it's story sucks and the fighting is just as bad, probably worse.

This video has nothing to do with the two movies from the 90s, it wouldn't make much sense to use such a crappy start when they could do an entirely new more free open design. If this is for a video game, it seems odd, but I suppose it's for the best they start the story over to try to make any sort of sense while try to feel realistic. The story is extremely ridiculous and tedious to try to remember. If this is for a movie, it seems like a good start and doesn't seem weak in terms of execution. Let Scorpion roam free in a revenge sequence sounds pretty damn awesome. Reptile v Scorpion sounds like such a bad-ass fight.
