Although the 'Gritty Reboot' has worked well with some movies, I don't know if this is the right way to go with MK. This looks pretty awesome - don't get me wrong - but there should still be some sort of superpowers 'n shit. Well to be fair, Mortal Kombat has always been on the gritty side in terms of the series' feel and storyline...

His 'GET OVER HERE' thingy wasn't a giant snake-monster-coming-from-his-hand, it was some sort of metal-hook-blade. ![]() @arb are you actualy saying the origional MKs were good? MK has always been gritty and that's the one thing I didn't like about the movies in that they lacked this. The first MK movie was kinda gritty but it was freaking pg 13. What the hell were they thinking making MK a pg 13 movie? The 2nd one was just plain bad. This one has me all excited though and it's been awhile since I cared about any movie at all...assuming it's even a movie ![]()

Sorta like new Batman vs old Batman movies. The older ones seemed more directed at kids, whereas a kid might not appreciate the newer ones as much as someone older.

This is amazing trailer, I really hope it is another movie, MK: Annihilation did not do the franchise justice.

It's Mortal Kombat, not Hello Kitty.

I ain't the biggest MK fan so I'm wondering like, when was it ever a snake? cause from as far back as I can remember (MK on Genesis awww yeah blood) it's always been a kunai on a rope (unless im going too far back? lol)

Guy who has a skin disease eats people's heads. Failed surgeon goes crazy because he can't handle failure. How does he cope? He kills people with blades he installed in his arms. The police force finds all this out somehow... So they hire an assassin that has been voluntarily locked away in their prison system to kill them both in a tournament. I find it hard to believe they can get pictures of Sub Zero, Reptile, Baraka, etc. Yet they can't track them down? Are you fucking serious? Scorpion (who is the greatest assassin ever apparently) doesn't know Sub Zero is alive and yet the police do? Oh yeah, and everybody is working for the same big bad guy, who's organization was infiltrated by a movie actor... who was killed... by the doctor who installed blades in his arms. So... that is actually a worse plot than the first one... didn't think that was possible. The more I think about this the more it becomes obvious that a 15 year old must have wrote this crap. We finally have the technology to make a real Mortal Kombat movie and this is what they give us. I really hope this is a trailer for the game because this looks like utter shit. EDIT: Yes, this disease will make you an excellent fighter and/or serial killer if you survive childhood. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlequin_type_ichthyosis This is what reptile really looks like according to this movie... ![]()

I'm also pretty pumped about this movie. It looks like they're actually putting a little bit of effort into making it halfway decent, instead of just phoning it in like usual.
