![]() Anyway, how long can Adu supporters fall back on his age? Seriously, I remember 2 years ago, people were saying - give him time, he's only 18! These years are the informative years; players need to have steady playing time if they are to become anything. I also have it on good authority that he isn't 20. I know I know, this isn't a credible source but I live in MD and have several friends who live in Montgomery County and have met Adu (he lived in Rockville) on several occasions. They all tell me that he's older than what his birth certificate says. I have no reason to believe my friends are lying so either I'm lying or they're mistaken.

Adu is like super shit for all the hype. Saw him play in europe in random matches and he is not that skilled and not even fast (considering he is winger/forward). Can't see him playing in a big team tbh, and he is not young, no, not at all. Most of the skills are developed pre-18 and vision probably even earlier. You only improve stuff like anticipation, positioning and decisions once you reach 20, unless he is one of those weird kid where he never had the environment to perform and improve.

And agree about Adu; he stopped growing long ago (hyped early cause he physically matured early) and is too slow and weak to make up for his lack of size. He gets pushed off the ball easily. But if you think he's skill less, you should see the rest of the USMNT. If you watch us play, we look so unnatural with the ball at our feet. At least Adu looks comfortable with the ball at his feet.

That guy went to Italy like 12 or something, and he had visits back with his parent prior to his 'official move' not to mention the fact that his father is football crazy and must have coached his son much better than the average us camps or whatever. As far as I've seen playing in lower division leagues myself, most 23-26 yr olds are in much better physical state than -23 players. Field vision can be developed by age as well. In my case it's different since I am a goalkeeper and we just get better and better with age until we turn senile ![]()

Come on, it is still a major tournment for him. I cried when I got injured out of a final tournment in local team I was in. Yes, I was fourteen, but then again the MLS player is a professional and his life revolves around football...

Vision is very hard to develop unless you have basically none in the first place. It is like me watching some asian people in my university who can't even kick the ball pass the half way line, yes, they have got massive room to improve and you can see they excel because they are shit in the first place. yea, I guess it is a big tournament for MLS, but it is just strange to see someone cry when they got injured. I am ok with emotion and stuff, but the game hasn't finish. The player need to support the team, let them know that this match has body counts, and you sacrificed yourself (not so much in this case). My views maybe a bit extreme, so yea... whatever edit: This is strange, because the two case mentioned, Rossi and Drogba, I actually have read their interview somewhere (Probably 442) and they talked about how they didn't take a normal footballers' path. If you throw me some other example, I probably don't know what to say (i.e. Toni, which I know nothing about apart from his wiki page).

If you get good training since a young age, you won't improve when you are in the 20's unless it is physical condition, communication etc which naturally progress with age.
