Anyone watching the MLS game tonight? Can someone give me some insight on the game as I will be up late and most likely be listening (if not actually watching) the game.

Gotta support your home league ![]() Games are usually physical and fast as you can expect from an American league. You can also expect low skill and technique, little possession, and naive tactics. Man, you should see when MLS and Mexico clubs play each other; it's like never a ending ole ole ole. I would say Galaxy are favorites solely cause of Donovan (probably the only true "world class" player in MLS that isn't over the hill) and more consistent defense/play overall.

Those people include: US youngsters Collegiate soccer graduates Random player recruited in Central/South America Old/Retired players Out of these groups, only the US youngsters and some college grads have any real shot of "moving up" as it were. Even then, growing up and playing soccer in the U.S. shoots them in the foot when it comes to technique, skill, and tactics. We can produce great athletes but producing great soccer players is still a long way off. They usually end up in some Scandinavian league (no offense ) at best.League is very good for being only ~14 years old or so. It is still growing and will get better in time but there is very little quality in it now. Donovan not withstanding; he loves the Cali lifestyle. Well and Beckham cause he thought his career was over. The only player that I can think of who successfully transitioned from MLS to a better league and actually starts is Clint Dempsey. There are some Mexicans who go to MLS, fail (MLS is very physical and the fouls here can be vicious), go back to Mexico and have some success. But I'm not sure if you see the Mexican league as more ambitious. O and goalies like Friedel, Keller, and Howard. Also add Carlos Bocanegra and Brian McBride. How could I forget the legend.

btw, that is not a bad list of export. those 3 keeper are decent to say the least and McBride is a proper hardass.
