Did you watch the clip? he moves his hand before the ball touches him to trap it. Are you saying his hand suddenly made a strange trapping motion?

I think the thing that is really stopping video replay is the implementation of the technology, obviously it wouldn't be a problem with all these high profile matches that we see, but what about lower down the league or even countries that are not so technological advanced, what are you going to do then? And what about the ref, who decide when to use video replay, then it comes into the question what happen if he doesn't use it. If there are 10 penalty claim in one match, then another 10 crazy tackle, this ref got a seriously hard game. Then it raise another question, who is good enough to make a decision with video replay, i.e. penalty. As well as the actual ref who uses it. So if a country like Ghana who cannot afford video replay within their country, does that mean their ref will never be able to participate in a world cup? So it may create some sort of bias since all ref will be from Europe (at least mostly). edit: wow, this is one big block of text, but whatever, just take it people.

I know USA often plays teams in CONCACAF (Cuba, Guatemala, El Salvador, T&T, Etc.) that I don't think would be possible to have video replay. Such a shame, refereeing is becoming so difficult with players embellishing and flopping more.

Nothing that expensive even for Third World countries. FIFA could help them anyway. That's not like if this kind of match happen on daily basis lol.

I guess it would be a problem to put in camera and extra ref in some shitty league in Africa, and the refs there really wouldn't get much exposure to this type of system. I would love to know if there are any top ref from the minority country in rugby. I am sure all these things have been thought of before, and there is still problem with video replay.

"I will be honest, it was a handball. But I'm not the ref," Henry said. "I played it. The ref allowed it. That's a question you should ask him."[...] "It would have been better to do it in another way, but as I said, I'm not the ref."

Noone is to blame though, except the entire dumb fucking organization for not having a videoplayback challenge system.

I honestly don't think he needs to say "sorry". This was for the World Cup; 99% of all people on Earth would have made the same decision had it been theirs to make. The majority of the fault lies not with Henry, but the system that allowed this to happen. An idea that was being thrown around on Goal.com was to have two more refs on the field, one on each goal line. Their only duty is to watch for penaltys, handballs, and other plays that hold huge implications. I also feel that two extra referees are much easier to obtain than a state of the art replay system in poorer countries like the ones mentioned.
